How does your side enforce discipline?

Recommended Posts

Referees have been discussed here before with regard to man management, enforcing discipline and whether they are considered 'card happy' or not.  Typically this revolves around dissent.

What does your side do about discipline?

e.g. I've noted some will pay fees for the player EXCEPT for dissent and SFP: In which case they levy an additional fee on the player to try and sort it out.

Your thoughts?

Good subject mews I never shout at Refs and i've never heard anybody in this league shouting at refs, its not fair, as for disciplining the players theres no need to we all get on like a house on fire and have complete respect for the refs:greenapple::greenapple: :greenapple:

Interesting question ! As we have a new Gaffer, it'll be interesting to see this season, though I don't think he'll stand for any dissent or bad language from the team.

Any bookings or sending offs for dissent are paid by the player.

Continuos offenders will be out of the club.

This does not apply to myself i might add ! I had two games last year were my discerpline was tested and by the same referee. I think his name was "Chuck"

I will be amazed if he is still at this level. Apart from him i thought the standard last year was pretty good.

Our discerpline at Egham has vastly inproved in the last 18 mnths and i will make every effort

to ensure this continues.

Good refereeing and talking to players in the right way makes a huge difference to players behavior and how they speak to officials.

Also admitting you might have got something wrong goes a long way with me.

Cheers

Steve

We have introduced a set of rules this year for the reserves regarding the above. The player pays his own fines for the FA and if it is for dissent then we will also add a club fine. If these are not paid then the player will not be selected for a match until it is paid. We do not pay players in the reserves. Another rule we have brought in at reserve level ( all between 16 and 21 ) is that the only player that can speak to the referee is the captain, if another player moans argues or shows any form of bad attitude to any official including towards the bench then I will drag them and fine them.Oh I also allow myself to have a chat with the ref also. In truth at the moment it seems to be working well, long may it continue.

Sounds some good stuff but I would like to ask a question ?

Best player gets sent off for dissent and then threatens to leave when the club refuse to pay his £30+ fine. What do you do ?

I ask because I have heard clubs with these rules before which they apply until the sort of scenario above happens.

Krooner in my Rule Book dissent is a yellow card offence,so would appeal to County F.A.

Kroons its quite simple the player would go... I don't care who the player is. I have introduced these and other rules this year as I will get the boys ready for more senior football in what I believe is the right way. If he does not want to pay his fine and threatens to leave then he obviously has not realised that to me discipline is paramount and for wanting to leave...I don't want anyone who is not fully committed so he would go and I would not have him back in a side of mine. I am a great believer that if you cannot get it right off the pitch how can you expect to get it right on it.....

Oh and by the way.....Which clubs have been put into the situation you highlighted?

And Kroons my best players are the ones that have the right attitude so it should never arise...
