The £8 admisson is also quoted on their forum.

Seen enough of the squad so far to know that we have a good team and will be pushing at the top end of our leauge, so see no point in coughing up the equivilant of our full price, for a game which means nothing.

The match is a memorial game rather than a charity affair:

"Every pre-season we play a friendly match in honour of a long time supporter Brian Collins, who past away a few years ago. This match has become known as the Brian Collins Challenge Shield and his family kindly donated the shield to Wealdstone FC. The Collins family and friends always attend the fixture, although a number of them are getting on in years now.

We would like to play our friendly with Slough Town FC on Saturday 7th August as this seasons match. So as always with this fixture if the score is level after 90 minutes the winner of the shield shall be decided by penalties. The Brian Collins Shield is kept at Wealdstone FC and the winners name will be engraved later in the season. The Collins family will make a present to Slough Town FC after the match of a silver plate."

So not a charity match then ? Wealdstone are notorious for overcharging, were quite unpleasant when i went, watch out for questioning regarding age eligibility for seniors, students, children. Also watch out for the lady who sells the golden goal tickets she scans the ground walking round and repeatedly asks people to buy.
