Two police officers have been taken off operational duty while the Independent Police Complaints Commission investigates how they dealt with a pensioner who was stopped for not wearing his seat belt.

The 70-year-old complained they smashed his car and kicked his windscreen.

Earlier the motorist had driven away after being pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt.

A spokesman for Gwent Police said the matter would be thoroughly investigated.

...... decides to always wear a seatbelt in Gwent ;)

Definitely OTT.

They can't have a defence given that they must have been able to see how old the guy was.

I'm all in favour of law and order, but this is taking it a bit far.

Shocking lack of self control. The Ol' Bill definitely lost the plot.

Could well be losing their jobs as well !

Bet there's more to this than meets the eye, nowadays not all 70 year olds are law abiding citizens, many are rude, some even still have a nasty streak in them, see Romford fc fir further details

Personally I have never met any rude or nasty Romford supporters of any age in all the years I have been following them.

For the good of our two clubs long standing friendship it might be an idea if you withdrew your libelous remark about your elders and betters.
