Brave Effort ! 3-5-2 ?

First things first.We came within eight minutes of getting a draw against very good and combative opponents.

Next,the pitch was a disgrace..I hope and expect

the constant resorting to the high ball game was born out of the fact that on a boucy castle its hard to play a passing game.

George Borg has a great pedigree and we all hope that his reign at Hornchurch will be a great one.

However,this is a forum and needs to reflect opinion.There seems to be,among many supporters,real concern over 4 4 2.Rather than relieve the pressure on defenders when the attacking teams break the pressure on Ollie and Marso seems to increase.They both coped well under the circumstances but with Chris Moore there too there would be greater security.

If 4 4 2 is to continue there is still no real evidence that Ollie is a better choice than Chris Moore.

All in all though there were good signs.A battling display,superb performances by the goalie Daniel Gay,Scott Gooding and the outstanding Jamie Southon.

Taff worked hard and will no doubt feature regularly either from the bench or starting but Vinnie John was certainly missed.

We all got a real buzz seeing Hornchurch there with the big boys.This gutsy performance suggests that we will hold our own.

.....oh and please Mr.Owner,we know youve spent a fortune already but please continue the search for a midfield magician to provide the missing link that could just make the difference !!!!!

Their is something missing in the midfield hopefully when McGowan is available JK will move to his natural left side ! Which will i'm hoping help create better opertunities for westie and his partner.
