on the front of it fantastic news, but this whole 'subject too' malaki kind of makes all a little premature, especially with Thanet Councils history. Also how long are we going to have to wait till this little amendmant is approved? and then how long are we going to have to wait till building work starts? Lets hope the answers are very soon instead of next summer. Excuse me for my pessimism, but it's just that we've been here so many times it feels and yet nothing has happened.

Why is this development described as the north stand-confusion enough as to whether it is the tivoli or coffin end.

Why do we now call it the north stand?

Geography never my stroggest point, and i have'nt held a compass since i left the wolf clubs-but surely-the coffin end is roughly south east facing, and minimally-hartsdown road end is further north than tivoli road.?

I would say it will be named after the person/ company that pays the most for the privilege. Or possibly named the "Soaking wet and freezing cold remembrance stand"

I seem to remember discussion some years back when the ground was going to be rebuilt, there being a thread on here re the naming of the new stands. I believe then that it was stated that the stand would be named after a sponsor.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to have the stand named after a person who has done a lot for the club and also let someone sponsor it ie: The (name) stand sponsored by (sponsor).

Just a thought.

If it is named after a person it is generally normal to name it after someone who is dead. So maybe Alan Kay, Bob Harrop or Almer Hall.

As for sponsorship...sure, take the money but it makes no difference to the fans. I still think of Dover at Crabble, not the Perrys Crabble Stadium.

Perhaps an area or something can be dedicated to Paul sykes?

Love the 'hall of fame' idea. Perhaps have a wall dedicated to this with pictures of all those inducted. Would add something special to the place.

Wonder if it would be a nice touch to have a roll of honour of each 'Supporters Player of the Year' winner also.
