Still better than Dover with their £10 entrance fee for a friendly and £3:40 a pint!

Agreed. and £5.00p for an under 16 year old, i'm only just recovering!!!!

And then the cheeck to ask to buy a raffle ticket as soon as you got through the turnstile. Afraid I told them where to go and it was worse than Deadwood.

Oh god what a nasty overpriced shirt we have... I have to say the scum from the south of the island have a much better looking kit for cheaper.

I feel that football shirts in general are grossly over priced anyway, whether its club or country so I never would buy one so its up to the individual, but fair play to Ramsgate if they can charge £29 for a Nike made one (credit where credits due and all that).

On another point I could not believe that Dovef charged £10 for a PSF and I'm sure they charged 20p for a photocopied A4 sheet of the teams now that really is taking the wee, I can see it now this Christmas Santa Jim charging the kids £30 for a photo and a present that consists of a stick of Dover rock and a Dover FC coloring book.... no crayons though, that will be another fiver! ! !

Also a great range of products on offer, unlike our site that has only managed a mocked up pic of last years shirt.

The club should realise that these sort of things should be in place to coincide with pre-season when hopes and expectations are high and fans are more likely to part with their cash for new clubwear, as usual the club has missed a trick as this could be a vital source of income right now.

Surely i can't be too difficult to put up some pics of the items on offer?

Rest assured that we are aware of the optimum timings for making the range of products available, but don't forget running the Your Name on our Shirt campaign - essential given the problems in signing up a traditional sponsor - pushed the whole process back somewhat. The kit for the new season has only just been produced because of that. We didn't want to wait until all the clothing that we're planning to make available was finalised for the reasons aluded to in other posts here, so we made the shirts available as soon as we could.

On a more general point about funding the football club, there is always balance to be struck between generating enough income to support a competitive playing budget and not wanting to price the club out of the market for supporters. We are putting together a range of ways that supporters can do their bit if they choose to. Of course, coming through the turnstiles is the most obvious one, buying food and drinks in the ground, buying a Matchday Magazine, raffle tickets, subscribing to the SUPERDRAW and / or CLUBDRAW, buying shirts and other club branded merchandise from the shopshopping for other things with our partners through to the various sponsoship and advertising options. We think we are developing a range of alternatives that appeal to all our supporters.

The options are to have a limited range of low price products etc and accept a modest, uncompetitive playing budget which would frankly make achieving promotion very difficult, or provide a range of options at a range of prices and give ourselves a real chance of making progress with a competitive budget. Clearly, we're going for option 2 but in a sustainable way.

Wellsies words of wisdom make massive sense to me.

I guess everyone is entitled to their views but why do some try and fault find in the detail rather than emphasise the good of the generality.

As far as i am aware, most of the people doing this within the club-- for the benefit of the club and supporters are volunteeers. Is it not better as wellsie suggests to get something on the site rather than wait until it is in perfect order ?

No-one if forcing anyone to have to buy a shirt-we all have a choice.

I equally won't buy one,but i can't see why i need to tell the world of my choice 'cos frankly no-one cares

Should we not be applauding the massive strides that the club has taken to improve its infrastructure over the close season.

If i recall correctly-only 15 months ago -it was very doubtful if there would even be a margate football club !!

Couldn't agree more. All the grousing is rather odd, and rather reductive. Things are going pretty well, and the product on the pitch will, we hope, become representative of investment from all sorts of people in all sorts of ways. Complaining about having a choice is tedious.

Personally I was glad to buy a shirt (although I agree it's not great-looking this year) and invest a bit from 250 miles distant. Particularly pleased to see the facility in place barely a week after I mentioned it on here. Paid by card, whereas last year I sent a cheque that was lost, and the shirt I got came a month later and was the wrong size.

Much proved service. Thank-you. No complaints from this Exile.
