To anyone who didn't know, Hornchurch lost the Essex Senior Cup Final tonight to Colchester Utd. The score being 2-1 to the league club.

Cheered me right up, that did

I'm looking forward to a good season with Hornchurch -off to a good start with a narrow defeat to a league club in a cup final.

If certain people from other clubs (or one in particular) want to be petty, good luck to them - It's not going to affect us.

It's the same with any rival club. The likes of Billericay took great amusement in us losing the Trophy final in 2004.

Best to ignore them.

Have to admit I was a bit disappointed as I was hoping for a cricket score.

If Romford was a few leagues higher and had a realistic hope of winning the competition I would like to think our aspirations would be for us to do better than winning a Mickey Mouse cup like the ESC.

I would also think that Dagger3, AKA ex Romford and Dagenham supporter Tony Middletons estimated gate of around 800 might interest those parties who are entitled to a cut of the gate money.

With teams like Colcester and Chelsford fielding strong sides, I dont think Rumford could get through the first round........ now if that is a bite then I will say sorry now .....................

Maybe dagger may now take the hint and understand that we are not the only people who read this, others include the league officials, opposing fans and the tax office.
