So basically you lot got nothing/sweet FA/zilch/not a penny for your prized asset from Barnet. At one point, Peterborough offered 100,000 smackers for his services, but the King wallett was open at the time and you lot declined.

I wonder what he was doing for those 52 weeks a year, as a paid employee of Chelmsford Football Club that made him so valuable.

I think it's a credit to our own football club that we have people who can negotiate the smooth passage of our players into the football league when league clubs come knocking.

TC, we understand Ricky is doing well at that level, but unfortunately, Barnet are not having lost two games and drawn one. I'm sure we will all hope we will see him at MP again next season.

Under what circumstances do you hope you too see him at MP again next season, LF?

£100k ...if only.....

Well I suppose if your an 'asset' selling Club Ryan......perhaps that explains the now positions of our respective Clubs........... :wall:

That's one of several scenario's that would see him back at MP; I was interested in which one you were hoping for. Sorry, but I didn't realise you were attempting subtlety.

What are the combined odds of you lot winning promotion and Barnet getting relegated. Would it be worth us putting that Tenner on it?

City being promoted, mmmmm...worth a punt after what I saw on Saturday.

After one game? All that wind on Saturday was the inflating of Chelmsford's huge gonad sacks. Bertie Big B*ll*cks are back in Chemlsford!!!. The age of austerity is coming to a close.

And you may have a point, Loco...that Chelmsford did not allow key players to develop their career by moving on under King's "fat wallet" policy and that Billericay does, may go some way to explain the respective positions of the two clubs....for now.

Given the current difficult economic climate we too had to let one of our better players go in the summer.

Young George Purcell moved up to York, but we couldn't secure the same deal as Chelmsford managed for Holmes.

Peterborough's £100,000 does sound like a lot of money doesn't it?

Anyway, thank God for the coming end of austerity - although it hasn't quite reached North Essex yet!

To Be fair Peter, Mr Fry never said Peterborough would pay it as a lump sum.

We have, so far, received 50k for Chris Whelpdale, but that was stage payments, and those payments were dependant on Chris getting to each of the Next Stages.

"It never 'appened...."

It's not like you to comment on "hear say" Peter, or did you see the written offer?

Love it Gary, thats a challenge...so Billericay in the BSS next season then, now we are apparantly on a level playing field?

Although it never happened, the alledged 'fat wallet' policy has gone.......lol!

It would have been regarded, I'm sure, as the height of impertinence to have requested a view of the written offer when I was informed of the reality of the offer by a member of the City board, Steve....

I wouldn't dare to suggest that Billericay would make the BSS next season LF. All I want to do is watch some entertaining football and enjoy myself.

Lacking in ambition? Not really...just whatever will be, will be.

I would say that post was about spot on Gary. Best of luck for the coming season and I will of course be taking in a few games over at New lodge.

Would be fantastic if we could meet in the Essex Senior cup!!!!

It would indeed...at our gaff...

A better ground in so many ways.

Indeed Gazza - much more room to move about on match days, only a few yards for the players to negotiate between the dressing rooms and the pitch, and the ability to get a reasonable view of the game without the use of binoculars to name but three.

The very best of luck for your boys against the Angels today, and indeed for the rest of the season - PLEASE get yourselves into the BSS next season - the local rivalry between the Clarets and Braintree pales into insignificance when compared with the contests we "enjoyed" in the past.

All said and done, I don't understand what a Romford Boy is doing supporting our oldest and bitterest rivals from the dark side of Essex.

Come home Pete, all is forgiven.

And good luck to Billericay for the comong season.
