Westfield (sussex) 0 -1 Westfield (woking)

 

Great trip again for our annual double header. They flew out the blocks first 15 but we went on to control the half and played some good football. Mark Mercer hit the only goal half an hour in. The hosts were much improved second half and both sides missed good chances but no more goals.

Reserves won the second match 5-2.

 

Westfield look like they've recovered well as just under a year ago they lost their clubhouse and changing rooms to a fire but all up and running again now

Good game against the Villa on sat...I was very pleased with the first 20 minutes as we were almost unstoppable.. then we scored a goal and went to sleep....Well done to the Villa and thanks very much for a great workout... I probably witnessed the best goal I will see all season, unfortunately it went in at the wrong end for me. I like what Bobby is doing down there he will get it right as thats what he demands from his players..Will definately have another crack at them next pre-season.....

Watched the second half of Sheerwater saturday. They beat Pyrford comfortably 5-0.

 

Being a Woking fan, it was interesting to see former player Phil Parsons as Pyrfords' player manager.

 

Good old fashioned punch up late in the game. 22 man brawl plus substitutes with fists flying everywhere. Referee kept everyone on the pitch, gave the captains a telling off and no further trouble.

 

I am sure they said it was a 'friendly' though!!!

Weeble, was good to see you on Sat. I was impressed with the side you have put together. I thought you had a lot of pace throughout the team and should do well in the suburban premier - that league is all about youth and pace from what i've seen!! I thought we (Hanworth Villa) came into our own once we began to get on top physically, but fair play to your guys - they didn't hide and gave as good as they got!! I'm hoping we can carry our current form into the league this season and i'm confident we can upset a few of the 'big boys' in the league this year!!

 

Good to see you and i'm sure we'll catch up again soon.

:yeah 3 in 4 games are we now going to see you up front more often !! i doubt it some how :waytogo:
