Deal 0 BLUES 5

What a quaint little ground Deal have. Really nice and homely and some very nice & friendly volunteers. The place was spotless.

Not sure if any of the current team were part of their FA Vase team but the Number 5 I think could have been picked up from any one of the local pub teams he was atrocious. (sorry that's being disrespectful to pub teams) smirk.gif

Considering it was the morning after the night before the team put in a good performance and once again BTFC had the bigger share of the crowd.

Not sure how Craig is going to choose who to pick for the first team squad but he has plenty of good talent to choose from.

A great performance and goals coming from the midfield as well....

I think it a little unfair to call their team and players "pub" as we were by far the more skillful and fitter of the two sides and a number of the fouls were basically a result because of that. More to the point, the officials were a little bit random...in both this and the Ramsgate game and it should've been their job to do a little more than "chat" to the player in some circumstances.

I don't see anyone calling the Deal "Team and Players" pub.

It was a bit disappointing to lose at Ramgate, but they outworked us in the first half and I thought deserved their lead.Second half we stepped on the gas but it was too late. A lesson learnt I hope.

Our win at Deal put us back on track as it was what I would expect given the levels of both teams.

I'm sure this weekend will have given Craig the chance to learn a bit more about the character of the current squad as well.

So its all very encouraging thus far..

I agree it is good to be getting goals from midfield, something we have lacked since Leon Hunter was at his prime, but were any of the goals scored by strikers? Do we have anyone other than Charge & Cleaver? Is Tony Boot still about or is any of these new names a striker?

Walid Matata is a striker and has scored two goals in pre season now.

I thought we did enough in the second half at Ramsgate to get something out of the game and as TC said yesterday we were quite a bit ahead of the opposition. I thought Ryan O'Rawe had a great game from full back yesterday.

A very enjoyable weekend and I suppose we have to wait and see what develops in the next week or so.

Come on you Blues!!
