An excellent afternoon spent at a very friendly club.

 

A very fitting well organised and moving tribute to one of their life long supporters. It took probably ten minutes and the free programme was dedicated to him.

 

I can see why Ian was loved there. They treeted him as a real hero today.

 

 

Liked our style today. An open game where we had about twenty shots and only scored once. We dominated vast chunks. Liked the lad Marsden. Very impressed with Craig Cloke and JM Sigerre. Shall leave the experts for other in depth performances but overall very pleasing. About twenty gate fans around the ground in a decent crowd. Everything in place in midfield and at the back. Not sure about goal scoring or who they will be!!

Again, more encouraging signs yesterday. Dominated for large parts of the game; they only really had one 'spell' and scored from it. Had a hatful of chances and, on another day, we probably could have scored 5 or 6. Very disappointed with GWR's approach though: they really were flying into challenges and I was surprised that Tait's leg wasn't broken. I'm all for a competitive game, but that was not in the spirit of the game, especially given as it was supposed to be a memorial.

 

Thought Ishmail had a good game; took his goal well, never stopped running and harassing the opposition - think he would have impressed IOC. Marsden had another very good game, he's getting better every time I see him - glad to hear we've signed him. Sherman also put himself about a bit when he came on - certainly seems to like a challenge. Not going to get carried away, but certainly more optimistic now than a few weeks ago. Tuesday will be a good test.
