By the way, it couldn't have been Hullbridge from those clues - one of them was 'second place'. Neither did the clues include 'pitch', 'Romford' or 'lasagne-gate'. Now if I'd written 'popular' or 'manager always magnanimous in defeat' you would have been spot-on.
