I dont like getting drawn into rows on here but here goes

Before people spout their mouths off they should get the facts rite 1st

I informed the league at the agm of us being unable to play any home fixtures until the last week of august so id say that was plenty of notice.

I also was as amazed as you to see that the fixture secretary had given us home games before the works were due to be completed.

When i learnt of this i phoned him this afternoon to remind him of this. To which he said he forgot.

NOW FOR THE BIT I CANNOT UNDERSTAND!

Why and how comes you have this information 1st hand and start slaggin off before the facts are known.

It stinks because someone has instantly leaked this info to you. This is not the first time i have noticed you having info before it becomes common knowledge.????

Once again have a go at one of the so called poor old clubs of the league.

I think when you do have the pleasure of coming to the New Wadham Lodge you will find the best ground in the league by far as 2.2 million £ssss are being thrown at it.

New floodlights, new pitch, new changing rooms, new bar, new main stand seats, new full size 3g training pitch and a general spruce up.

Oh just like Hullbridge the wembley of essex already is lol !!!!!!!!!

Rant over!!!!!! But deserved!

That's not exactly what happened Woodsy....I saw that on your web-site and told our club secretary to double check with Len and the League. When our secretary spoke to Len early this morning he knew nothing about it and that's exactly what he told you later on when he contacted you..Now someone here is telling porkies because when asked at the AGM if any club didn't want a game on 7th August you didn't put your hands up or you did?If you did then didn't say that louder or in writing then. Now put your toys back in the pram and say thanks to a colleague that saved your club from getting a fine.grin.gif

Mr Fixture Secretary how the hell can you sort fixtures out and have Takeley V Eton Manor in week one and Eton Manor V Takeley in the second round of fixtures.

What's your problem? Eton Manor are notoriously slow starters. e.g. Last season they lost their first 3 games, then drew the next two (granted it was to very good sides, including Takeley). The previous season they lost two and drew one of their first four.

I agree it is strange that two teams should play their first two league games against each, on the other hand, it could be 6 points. No offence Manor!!!

I think that given all the hassle and grief that Grays have caused all the various fixtures secretaries (Not all their fault), it is amazing they have got the fixtures out al all.

Not being sarcastic, but will you have a burger bar or similar open this time round?

I've not managed to get to see any pre-season games at all yet because of work & family. I will try to go and see Barking v Brentwood tonight and will get over to watch Waltham Forest v Eton Manor on Saturday, which is being played at Waltham Abbey on the outside pitch I believe.

I think it's very open again this season. Enfield have had their ususal big turnover of players from what I understand, Barking have lost a couple of key men from last season (when the were flying post Christmas), Stansted will be more of a marked team this season as will BGU, and I think both might find going a little tougher. Burnham I feel might start a little more slowly, with Willow getting his feet under the table, but once he has they'll be a good side and Witham, whilst favourites, will certainly not have it all their own way.

The two that I can't see being as poor again are Eton Manor and Bowers. They both underachived last season with the players that they had, and in both cases that was down to some really careless defending. If either can sort things out at the back they'll be back in the top half I'd have thought.

A tough start for us at home to Enfield. It will be a good measure of how our season is to go. I hear Enfield are the big spenders this season. Do we know who the movers and shakers are yet?

It will be the usual suspects mate.Witham are the clear favourites but other big clubs like Burnham,Bowers,Barkingside,Bethnal Green,Takeley,Barking,Enfield will be right there.Don't forget holders Stansted that have gone to another level and obviously £ 2.2 m ground spenders Mauritius with or without a burger bar.Flipping heck, the ESL is getting stronger than the bottom half of the Ryman 1 according pre-season results!!futbolbud2.gif

I think that would be very sensible. As I said before, I think everyone understands that Len has had a near impossible task this year, but for two clubs to meet each other twice in their first two league fixtures doesn't reflect well on the league and isn't helpful to the two clubs concerned.

Let's hope for a season as exciting and nailbiting as the last one.

Although i understand how frustrating it must be for Takeley and Eton Manor, but what the League must remember is that clubs were asked to submit to Reserves / U18's leagues, their first team fixtures, meaning if a team is forced to change from being away to being home to accomodate this, it could result in a clash for another club with their Reserves, i will give you an example.

We had to submit dates by the 22nd, this was unable to happen as the fixtures were not released, but we were able to tell the league on Sunday the home and away games for August. All the other clubs would have had to do the same. I pm'd the league chairman to ask for dates when we would be at home midweek , i didnt need the opposition, just to know when we would be at home and got no response. Not very helpful. We have another team who play Saturdays, there are other teams we all have.

The Grays and Witham's saga didn't help at all this year and obviously with many clubs groundsharing the ESL was left to deal with fixtures release with no much time left. It's really harsh and ungrateful to slam someone that does this work like a labour of love.Len is a great fella one of those unsung heroes of Non League football.Clubs like the one WTFC belongs should show a bit more respect for him.

Woodsy...dont mean to rain on your parade but you are not the first ESL management team who Coachy has annoyed this pre-season!!!

Your will get used to it mate :wall:

From what I hear from my friends at Southend Manor, he has already been very underhand in his tapping of of two of their players!! There is unwritten rules amongst football folk, ecspecially amongst the smaller clubs like Manor, 'Bridge and Mauritius!

Naughty boy Coachy...tut tut
