Jean Charles de menzes family said he didn't understand English which is why he didn't respond to police shouting STOP very loudly.Funny how people who spend over a year in this country always claim to have no command of the English language.

In that current time, just after 40 plus people had lost their lives due to bombings on the railway I think a bloke who was obviously not of english origin, ignoring police with a rucksack on his back running through a tube station in central London at rush hour could be considered a reasonable threat

if he wasnt in the country illegally he probably wouldnt have been running but hey according to some people on here the human rights of a cocaine addicted llegal immigrant should be put before the safety of the general public.

Don't want a good myth to get in the way of the story but Jean Charles de Menezes WAS NOT in the country illegally. Home Secretary at the time - Jack Straw confirmed he was legally entitled to stay in the UK at the time of his death, in addition Jean Charles had arrived back in the UK after previous stays under legitimate student visas via the Republic of Ireland which under a regulation I can't recall gives visitors 3 months right to stay whatever their nationality which was the case with Menezes.

People love a good headline and we all know the first story that the rag writers print becomes "gospel" but there seems some concern over the cocaine test which determined that there was trace elements of cocaine in his urine but NOT his bloodstream. Without the conclusive bloodstream test there is no confirmation of cocaine use since false positive testing can occur with a number of elements including some popular prescribed anti-biotics. In any case, cocaine use is not in itself illegal.

Not to say that "some people" couldn't find plenty of other reasons to explain away his thorough wretchedness if "they" wanted to. He must have been a wrong 'un. cheesy%20(2).gif

Getting back to the original thread.........................

Being charged with MURDER, is a charge relating to intentional killing.

MANSLAUGHTER is a charge relating to causing the death of...., but not intentionally. Hence PC Harwood being charged with the latter.

Both charges, if proven guilty CAN carry a life-sentence, though manslaughter usually carries a lesser prison term. It is quite rare for a person convicted of manslaughter NOT to receive some sort of prison sentence.

We will just have to wait to see !

Menezes entered the country in 2002 on a 6 month student visa, three years later he was still here and hadnt learnt a word of English, this is simply bad manners and i would equally apply such a judgement on English people living in Spain who dont learn the native Language.

'The Muslim Council of Britain expressed immediate concern about the apparent existence of a "shoot-to-kill" policy and called on police to make clear their reasons for shooting the man dead.'

maybe the Muslim Council should have expressed more concern about their fellow islamists having a 'bomb to kill' policy.

I see that PC Simon Harwood was rightly cleared on Thursday of killing alcoholic Ian Tomlinson who was supposedly in the wrong place at the wrong time during the G20 protest in London in 2009. The experienced Officer was cleared by a majority verdict 14 months after a kangaroo inquest jury said Tomlinson had been unlawfully killed.

One person who may connect the two (Simon Harwood and Jean Charles de Menezes) is Cressida Dick.

A vile woman indeed:

Experienced Officer ??

An out and out thug who SOMEHOW managed a transfer to Surrey after resigning from the Met., then took a civilian role at Croydon before requesting a transfer to join Surrey Police.

Surrey took him, then quickly found out just how volatile he was and was pleased to 'ship' him back to the met.

I await the possible family private prosecution with great interest.

I see that Dr Freddy Patel, the experienced pathologist who gave the initial post mortem following Ian Tomlinson's death, has been struck off by the over zealous General Medical Council following a Medical Practitioners Service tribunal on Thursday. Medical Council Chief Executive Niall Dickson is quoted as saying 'Patel fell below the standards we expect' however clearly Dr Patel has been made a scapegoat and I hope that he will appeal the knee jerk decision and clear his good name.

I assume you are on a wind-up?

If Patel, who clearly was not up to the job, had undertaken the post mortem properly then the family of Tomlinson might have received proper justice for his brutal death.

I wonder if Cressida Dick and Common Purpose are involved.... would NOT surprise me.

Not at all, I think Dr Freddy Patel has been treated appallingly and been made a scapegoat for other people's incompetence in the case

Goes a bit deeper than that, Rhodsey !

Law states that all police employed pathologists MUST be registered on a panel of pathologists

He WASN'T, so false representation.

Incidently, if you study his 'track record', it was appaling.

Dr Freddy Patel qualified at the University of Zambia in 1974 and has practised as a highly regarded and likeable pathologist for 35 years until Ian Tomlinson's death in 2009 when he was suspended, you can't just become a bad and incompetent pathologist overnight and when it suits somebody.

Even though you are on one of your "usual" wind ups lets nip this one in the bud shall we Cliffy?

"Last year, Dr Patel was given a four-month ban for dishonesty and omitting key findings after examining the body of a murder victim who he said had died from natural causes.

Sally White, who was murdered by Anthony Hardy in north London in 2002, had injuries which included a bite mark and a head wound. Hardy went on to murder two more women later that year.

Dr Patel also served a three-month suspension for failings in other cases and had been removed from the official register of approved forensic pathologists."

Obviously there is a history of mistakes, shall we move on from your "outraged" defence of Doctor F*ckup eh?
