Everythings black and White in your world Alan.

I could of gone to the city that day for a drink with my mates but decided not too because their were reports of possible trouble, some of my friends didn't even bother going to work as they knew there would be problems.I can understand the bloke went to work there but only a moron or someone who fancied a bit of aggro would stay in that area when they didn't have to.

To be honest,I wouldn't mind If the old bill gave it back a bit more, may put some of these to$$ers we have roaming our streets in their place, when I was a kid if one of your mates was being too much an [****!!****] in town and started gobbling off to the old bill he was put into a meatwagon and given a bloody good hiding, guaranteed he wouldn't do it again

Do you think they still do the 'wet blanket' business?

Ian Tomlinson was going about his lawful business, and as a taxpayer whose wages pay the wages of the police he was entitled to expect to be protected by the police, and not be bludgeoned to death by them.

If your little one has a few to many and "starts gobbing off to the old bill" when she gets older, I don't think you would be very happy if she was "put into a meat-wagon and given a bloody good hiding"

Pathetic arguement.Saying that though,if a person is brought up properly they would be taught to respect law and those in authority not belittle it at any given time.

:applaus: :applaus: :applaus: :applaus: :applaus:

Thats the trouble these days, no one has any respect and there are too many people looking at blaming everyone else and looking for a claim here, a blame there!!!! The copper was a tad heavy handed but he is in the middle of a riot, what a ridiculous route home, drunk or not, again how was the copper to know that??

Er don't read the sun, typical lefty comment as usual

Coppers do protect, they go to work to make the streets a safer place. They don't go to work to have missiles thrown at them by idiots who are taught by socialist teachers that protests and violence within those protests are ok in a democratic society.Yes,everyone should have a right to protest but why put peoples lives at risk to do so just because you don't like something.Let's face it,how many of these students and their likes would give up their precious values if offered a high powered job with all the benefits and a nice big £100'000 wage plus comission a year, the majority would and that's a fact.

The fact that excess force was used on someone is hard luck,if the copper had wanted to kill the bloke he could of smashed him constantly blow after blow,he didn't,he used excess force probably in the heat of the moment as he was probably just as scared and probably regrets it and will for the rest of his life.

Why should "the students and their like" give up their precious values just because they are offered a high powered job with a handsome salary. While out canvassing I used to meet loads of people with firmly held socialist beliefs in nicer parts of Havering, and yet the ones who lived in the run down estates and had the most to gain from a socialist administration, labour voters were as rare as rocking horse sh1t.

The fact that excess force was used on someone was not hard luck, it was unbridled thuggery, and if there's any justice in this world the copper involved will soon be facing a manslaughter charge.

Brave enough to rough up some half cut 47 year old, who was walking away with his hands in his pockets , but nowhere to be seen when they REAL yobs, who did deserve a hiding, were kicking in the windows of the RBS.

Let's not confuse this body-armoured thug with yer George Dixon of Dock Green "Bobby on the beat", they're a different breed.

Warnings were given before any 'Excessive Force' was applied to Tomlinson, with the adrenalin flowing as you would expect in the middle of a riot, what exactly would you expect the copper involved to do in that situation, take him to one side, have a little word in his shell like, maybe even sit him down and have a cuppa and sort of maybe explain that he could have chosen a slightly more sensible route home!!!!! There was a full blown riot going on for god sake, someone with the condition or medical problem that Tomlinson had surely (a) should probably be taking a little more care of himself and not be the p1sshead he is reported as being, ( b ) maybe be that little bit more responsible and stay away from any situation that could possibly put himself at any risk of getting hurt (and being in an area during a full blown riot is probably not the best choice of places to be!!!) Its not that hard to be responsible and the Old Bill are damned if they do and Damned if they don't!!

I suspect you may want to cut and paste that comment onto the Amanda Knox thread in the not too distant future.

Why is that?

Well because PC Harwood was just doing his job, okay he was a little over zealous with Tomlinson but it was the G20 Summit at the end of the day and tensions were running high!
