Dan Young

Does seem strange as Fisher describe themselves as an 'amateur club' and Dan Young apparently wanted more money to stay with us. Also noticed that Carshalton had a 'Young' playing in defence for them in a recent friendly, could our old manager have one eye on him ??? Either way it seems he wont be with us next season.

Do you think it possible that DY's rationale here is that it in fact gives him a chance to impress Millwall and dagenham as opposed to Fisher themselves ?

plus the associated 'publicity' highlights his general availability to other clubs -without him having to make the calls !!

I'd still like to see him playing for margate however

Seems a strange place to be 'in the shop window' to me. If, as has been reported, he wants a wages hike, then he's looking in the wrong place at a Kent League side.

Surely he should be requesting a trial at Conference South level at the likes of Boreham Wood, Braintree, Bromley, Chelmsford, Ebbsfleet, Thurrock & Welling.

On the subject of Dan Young-i read that Nick Barnes has joined Croydon- big pity -but guess it was always going to happen.

(are morris and parkinson triialling for ramsgate on saturday ?

I similarly read that tom peachey is at sittingbourne/faversham/chatham (can't remember which one now)-never saw him but was'nt he one of our highly rated younger players )

Just leaves blackman and sam jones to turn up somewhere.Looks like Jackson o'Hakam did,nt quite cut the mustard at Dover.

I love the next 4 weeks of pre-season rumour ,trialist watching, speculation and gossip-most of wehich turns out to be complete rubbish

Blackman has been training at Ramsgate, and i think hes signed for a club in Essex, Parkinson and Morris havent been training at Ramsgate,on the new Ramsgate website it tell you in a thread what the squad is for there game tomorrow, there quite a few ex margate players

Barnes no loss - he couldn't even make a 3-yard pass. Quite happy with the cental midfield pairing of Saunders and Benjamin - they ran the show at Dartford last season. Young probably a squad player at best, his progression has been nowhere near what it should have been. Personally, would still like to see Sam Jones retained, but looking increasingly unlikely now. Can't wait for that first game - Canvey generally bring a fair few, so should be a good atmosphere!

I really cant see Blackman signing for Ramsgate , surely not . Not sure he's Essex bound either as he played in the same match as Young for Carshalton I believe so I'd expect them both to sign there. i havent seen or read that Barnes has signed for Croydon but no doubt he has and not really surprised. Although I think he's only an average Ryman Prem midfielder I think we desperately need someone like him in CM which would make him all the more valuable to our squad. Anyone heard how Stubbsy is getting on ? He could be a very timely addition if and when he returns.

Franny i cant see anywhere it says Blackman has signed for Ramsgate.

Exactly, and I cant see anywhere it says he's signed for 'an Essex club' either. So looks like neither of the scenario's you may be suggesting are likely to happen. So my money is on him and Young signing for Butler at Carshalton.

Even though we had previouslyly been advised that he had signed for margate-if the above post is true-i am not too surprised.

I think IOC had previously commented that he was not the most reliable.

Still-yet to be confirmed-but again-not surprised if true-pity just the same-and thus it leaves us needing 2 quality central midfield players
