Enfield FC

Recommended Posts

I have heard a rumour that Enfield FC have brought Hertford Towns ground. Hertford will also continue to play there as Enfields tennants. Does anyone know if there is any truth in this?

Enfield FC Statement

Enfield FC regret to announce that due to unresolved differences with Boreham Wood FC, the ground-sharing agreement for 2003/04 has been revoked.

Consequently, Enfield FC have been suspended by the Ryman League with immediate effect until alternative arrangements are in place.

Enfield FC would like to assure all Supporters' that every effort is being made to enable a speedy resolution and apologise to anyone who may be affected by this.

Heard they paid around 1/2 million for it!

Half a million for that ground sounds an interesting move! Lets see what happens when it rains! With the climatic change it could be an interesting pitch in the monsoon season? Water wings standard issue are they!

We've seen lots of talk of EFC and Hertford Town. Lets see what the Town Council and the people of Hertford make of it?

where did Hertfoord and 500k come from you townies making things up again.

And if it is ture why pay Borehamwood money to play there when they have another ground, from what i understand its Danny Hunter wanting a whole seasons money up front thats the trouble. If EFC have somewhere else to play why pay Borehamwood.

Also what would the people of Hertford and the Council have to do with it. If EFC did move there Hertford are supported better and get bigger crowds.

I dont get your point Cleggy

They should pay Borehamwood to play as it will cost them £1000 for every league game even if they play at Hertford. THe fact that they have not got an agreed ground is why they are suspended.

"its Danny Hunter wanting a whole seasons money up front thats the trouble". Its always somebody else's fault never Tonys.

However I do agree with your comments about Hertford and the Council. I also do not believe that they have got Hertford as all they would have had to do is to notify the league and they would be able to play on Saturday.

...and what part of Enfield is Hertford in?

I hope for Enfield's sake that this was not the good news we're all to 'wait and see'! Maybe this is just a bluff - let's hope so as a permanent move outside the borough really could see the end of the club, if the Ryman League or the FA don't get there first.

Mr Lazarou, it seems, will never learn.

so mr AT what is the problem if it is Hertford of course we would like a ground in Enfield but if it is true then at least it is our own ground that's more than etfc have at the moment. and steph how can even the Ryman league fine a club for wanting to play at there home ground.

Syrup, are you seriously suggesting that you would be happy to play home games at Hertford Town, week after week. Would you rather not play in the Borough of Enfield? Despite what you say about Town, you cannot fault us on getting roots back in Enfield. Groundshare or not, that was our first objective and is exactly what we have done.

The fine relates to the fact that the club have not accurately notified the league where they will be playing this season. The club secs have to arrange transport and fixtures have to be arranged in the event of a ground share. Hertford would have arranged their fixtures for the season and so have the ryman div one. What happens if there is a clash.

durr, how can "Enfield" have a home ground in Hertford ?

bit like Wimbledon playing in MK.

And if it has been bought then where did the money come from ? or is that another secret ?

I dont want the club to move outside of Enfield however,

if this move is going to happen then at least all the bar taking's and other money that come's in, is Enfield F.C's profit, rather than Borehamwood's

I would like a ground in Enfield but if this does turn out to be our ground then hay for NOW it will do!!!

I thought you couldn't groundshare in the Ryman league, that's why Romford are back in the ESL as the ground we were going to use was geographically too far from Romford (15 miles). Whoever owns the ground, surely someon will be sharing with someone else ! Is this because of the possibility of less teams in the Ryman next year, if so ETFC and Romford and Ilford are ready and waiting.
