[Onthesidelines]

Tony Boot equalized from the penalty spot in the second half. Brentwood scored from first half header with our defence nowhere and we hit the post and produced the only good save of the match from the Brentwood keeper. In the second half we made about 9 changes and looked a lot sharper especially going forward. We hit the post and had a penalty saved. I don't know who many of our players were, so I await a more knowledgeable post. This was just to get a report started.

It was a good workout I thought, and considering that the lads have only worked on fitness so far, some of the interplay and awareness during the second half is very encouraging.

 

It was good to see some familiar faces taking time to watch their former team mates, I had a good chat with Michael Shinn who seems happy at Dartdord and is looking forward to the new season, I didn't get a chance to say anything more than a quick hello to Billy Bricknell but he was looking fit and well and I'm told he has been on trial at a league club.

 

As usual the blues support was out in numbers which is very good considering the match had only been arragnged a few days previous.
