Windsor 2-1 Slough

Yep, lots of good approach play until the final third. Simon Martin in the second half was the only one of the four strikers who really looked like they were going to make something happen. Took his goal very well.

It was my first preseason game, I thought that it was a decent run out and that we played quite well, especially in the second half. Windsor did not seem to create much beyond their two goals, and we should certainly have had one in the first half - Sonner was not offside even by the admission of Windsor fans!

Very impressed with our play through the midfield at times today, if we can get the link to the strikers working to produce goals then the goals will start flowing. Very optimistic ahead of the new season.

Our first real competetive game and we at least matched Windsor in most departments.

On chances we deserved at least a draw.

The Offside goal was not offside. Why Craig O'Conner tried to head that ball is a mystery and Simon Martin should have scored when he scooped the ball over.

Still very promising and our best players BY A LONG WAY where Chris Seeby, Steve Sinclair and Chris Heron.

We figured Craig was given time to think, which almost never ends well for him...

Not sure if the off-side was or not: it was a fair way upfield and certainly no one noticed until after the ball was in the net. The lines(wo)man was pretty good most of the time, though, when she was in position, didn't notice any glaring wrong calls from her...

Plus in the first half one of your guys (#7? blond hair, playing down the right) almost scored with a superb instinctive volley, but was blocked by an equally instinctive save from McNeil.

So you certainly had plenty of chances, and the mostly reserve/triallist side we put out after the break struggled more. Decent game, though, for both halves.

Oh, in the first half I actually recognised more Slough players than I did Windsor ones. Which was unnerving.

Chris Herron who is a talented player but has suffered with injuries in the past.

The offisde was not even close. I was bang in line. Sonner was several yards onside when the ball was played and even after she'd run 5 yards before raising her flag he was still on! Even the Windsor supporters around us were giving her stick at how ridiculous a decision it was. Not that it really matters.
