penn and tyler

Finished 4-0 Dean Harper added the third. Decent run out where we probably had 85% of the play. New signings looked good. Also had Terry O'Connor, Sean Byrne (Who played for us two seasons ago) and another player from New Zealand trialist playing for us.

Was impressed with our work ethic considering it was our first game. Coyne, Harper and Siebe looked especially good and it was encouraging to hear lots of voices on the pitch, something we lacked last year. Craig O'Connor looks a lot fitter (aka slimmer!) than when he was at Slough before. We seemed to be playing three centre backs with Herron and O'Connor (T) as wing backs.

thought we looked good. Both the new and old players impressed. Steve has got hold of quality in swift and coyne. So atm im optimistic! Sorry about brevity of first msg. . V weak wap at penn!

Some things never cease to amaze me.

Never thought I'd see Sean Byrne and Terry O'Connor out there today. After supposedly falling out of love with football Sean Byrne did look a class act when he came on.

Easy to get carried away because you need to take into account the quality of the opposition but we did look good today, controlling the game from start to finish where Ricky Perks didn't have a save to make.

Paul Coyne pulled the strings in midfield, Sean Sonner looked very sharp up front and Craig O'Conner was his usual pain in the backside to the opposing defenders.

Also, must say for his first game for a while after an operation to remove the bolt in his knee Chris Herron had a good game.

Looks like we have an embarassment of riches in midfield and defence with Sincs, Sweeney, NBH, Murphy and Mo Sharif to come into the equation.

Still maintain we need a 20+ goal scorer to be in contention for the title this season.

Onto Holyport who will be provide much stiffer opposition.

That's the biggest concern at the moment I feel. Today despite dominating it was clear the weakest area was the forward line, Slough looked pretty toothless at times. If only O'Connor wasn't as greedy could have got a couple more. Elliot was quality and could score out of nothing at times and his qualities will be missed.

Plenty of time to work on the areas that need improving though. So no need to worry at this stage.

thought it was a good workout and 1st half they restricted us pretty well though as said we don't really have a reliable goalscorer it seems

we showed glimpses of quality play and of course we have plenty of quality to still come into the equation. at least 5 that probably would start in our best team who weren't there yesterday

Byrne imo could do a really good job for us in midfield

also hope we get to see a few of the youth players in the next few games

the New Zealand trialist was seemingly being called Fergus
