So we start the FA Cup 2 rounds up this season missing out the Pre-lims and Extra Pre-lims and start the FA Trophy 1 round up missing the Pre-lims.

According to this statement by the Isthmian league Grays won't be playing in the Ryman Premier next season.

 

It also suggests they might not even have a ground-share in place for next season.

That is a turn up for the books... Does that mean they'll pull out, we'll get a bye, they'll swap with another team, or they will be step 4/5 but join the competition at step 3 level?

 

Wonder if they as a club will have an exedous to match our own?

I think it’s a long story but they have been in the Conference for the last few years but had to resign from it at the end of last season.

 

From what I can gather the man who had been bankrolling them has pulled out and the lease on their ground ran out, making them homeless.

 

They were originally put in the Essex Senior league for next season but appealed to the FA who then put them into the Ryman Premier, the Isthmian league then appealed that decision but failed, however they have now denied them entry on the grounds that they don't have a confirmed ground-share agreement, so it looks like they will be in the Essex Senior after all....unless there is another twist!

Isn't John Moncur the chairman & Julian Dicks the manager. Surely they were paid a decet wage in the Premiership days! It is another shame for non-league football. A team who were Confrence main dropped to regional leagues!

A second appeal has been lodged. Gawd knows when it'll all be sorted out.

At least we don't have to go to that God awful place to watch it. surely the coldest and most miserable ground i have been to in ages, plus I remember our car being stolen from the car park opposite one Tuesday night. Went back in to the clubhouse with a grim look on our faces and Steve Playle (quite a while ago eh!!) looked at us and joked "What's up, your car been stolen?" Steve always knew the right thing say!!!!

 

Always worried playing teams with famous ex players in charge, you never know who they will tap up fro players just when you get to play them.

 

Do we know who we have in the next round, or is it drawn after the 1Q, I thought we knew up to 2nd or 3rd Qual?
