Grays will not be in the Ryman League

It would appear that their deluded belief that they could walk into the Ryman Prem has been ruined for them.

I'm sure that the people running the club are doing their best for the football club and the supporters and in time, they will regain some stability.

I'm afraid they may have to do what we were forced to do and work their way back from a humble position.

So they plan to "challenge it vigorously". Whay can they do, appeal to The Court of Arbitration for Sport?

At this rate the fixtures will be out some time next Michaelmas Tuesday???? Maybe the teams will only play each other once this season!!!

As mentioned in my title, I think we all wish the best to genuine fans of Grays Athletic.

Whether they have an agreement in place to play in the Essex Senior, if this happened I do not know.

Ian/Blackballed - if the football boot was on the other foot do you really think that they would wish us well ??????

Of course not. They are best off out of the way. The Olympian League would be a nice place to start.

As for West. at his age the Olympian League would be a suitable level for him, but you would need Securicor to guard the changing room doors while the game is on.

I would like to think deep down any genuine fans of any non-league club would not like to see other fans suffer due to decisions made by third parties that they have no say or control over.

Yes, there are rivalries on the terraces and in forums etc., but at the end of the day we are all human.

I do not care for the hangers on and the idiots who will simply move to another club to 'support', but I am talking about the long established fans who have paid their entry fee for years and supported the club through thick and thin.

I've no axe to grind with Grays - as long as they've been honest with the current situation.

My concern is that Grays will keep on appealing (not sure how) and delay all the fixtures even further.

23 clubs in the Ryman Premier was always going to be difficult to deal with.

I'm sure they'll work their way back up from the ESL if that's where they are going.

To be honest I had some level of sympathy with them but recently that has gone, this whole saga is making them look pathetic and for a club with no money it's amazing how they are squandering cash on appeal after appeal, they should just take what they can now before they have no club and are the scourge of non league football. Also they nicked our burger van and waved fake notes at us when we went tits up and I don't remember their decent fans running to our defence either.

Also let's no forget the original bad feeling between the two clubs started after they smashed our toilets up when we beat them 2-0 at home in 2003,before their money rolled in

There is very little information on the Grays forum, and nothing at all on their web site.

Does the decision relate to just the Premier Division of the Isthmian League, or does to relate to both divisions?

If the latter, then presumably they will be in the ESL.

Are they to play at East Thurrock, or at Tilbury?

And according to reports on the Grays forum, Hutton FC are this coming season going to play on the second pitch at East Thurrock - but I did not know that they had two pitches at East Thurrock, so where is the second pitch?

If they are removed completely from the Isthmian Lge set up, how does this affect their FA Cup status?

Same comment applies to the FA trophy and / or FA Vase.

They're in both Fa Cup and Trophy draws.

On the Ryman site

THE Ryman League have issued the following statement with regard to Grays Athletic FC and their position in the football pyramid for 2010-11.

"Last month an Appeal Board of The FA recommended that this Club be placed at Step 3 of the National League System and the Ryman League was the most geographically appropriate league. As a result the member Clubs of the League at their recent AGM were forced to consider and pass two emergency Special Resolutions to enable the number of Clubs in the League to be increased.

"Grays Athletic had indicated that it had a ground share agreement with East Thurrock United FC despite assurances to the contrary by the East Thurrock representative at the AGM.

"The League has been unable to approve a ground share at East Thurrock United FC for Grays Athletic and the conclusion has been reached that Grays Athletic FC does not meet the criteria for membership of the League. A statement has been issued by The FA today saying that 'It is very apparent that Grays Athletic FC does not meet the entry requirements for the Isthmian League and will not be able to compete at Step 3 for Season 2010/11'.

"Accordingly this League, which has not been able to set fixtures for the new season so far, will now proceed to arrange a fixture list for its 66 Clubs with the original 22 Clubs allocated to the Premier Division by The Football Association."
