Loose
Well Rhodesly - I didn't understand your comment. It's pretty plain that commenting on how some people prefer to use the internet is not a criticism of the internet. I suppose its just you being an ar$e as usual. Who knows? I completely agree with Zuckerberg, I particularly do not agree with censoring the media which Facebook is a form of. In this case it demonstrates the lack of communication skills the crazies possess and the level of idiotic bile a small percentage of society can spew. Facebook has many pitfalls, it has recently discussed if not put in place an alerting system for users concerned about the activities of other more sinister users. Doesn't mean we should feel that Facebook is a problem, just a small percentage of degenerates. Degenerates like you and the others promoting hero worship of Raoul Moat have your place in Society unfortunately.
officialspokesman
I don't understand your comment Rhodesly Loosely - What exactly don't you understand as it's as plain as the nose on your face what my meaning was. Incidentally, I take it you saw the front page of the Daily Mail this morning with the banner headline ' PM Fury at Facebook Tributes to Killer', I gather David Cameron has naively attempted to pressurise Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg into taking down the 'offending' page I touched on yesterday which currently has almost 30,000 members. Zuckerberg's response however was quite rightly, and I quote, 'we believe that enabling people to have these different opinions and debate about a topic can help bring together lots of different views for a healthy discussion'. Mr Rhodes, in the case of your allegedly new hero Mr Moat, it difficult to see how anyone in their right mind can share your opinion. It might be easier to have a healthy discussion if people like you showed some remorse for the victims of this evil man, something you have so far failed miserably to do. Rhodes
Buzzardboy - Don't take this the wrong way as I am not for one minute condoning what Moat did however I can actually see where he was coming from. If, for example, you were inside and your girlfriend phoned you to say she 'had met a new bloke who was a cop' and it was all over you wouldn't take it lying down would you and you would seek sweet revenge on your release from jail albeit obviously not to the extent Moat went to. You will see from one of my first posts on this infamous topic that I have never condoned what Raoul Moat did however, as I said, I can see exactly where he was coming from, strangely enough this was endorsed in the Daily Mail today whereby they quoted a poster called Jamie Sullivan on the ever growing Facebook page entitled 'RIP Raoul Moat You Legend' as follows: 'He got pushed to the edge by a lying scummy girlfriend who told him she was s......g a copper, she tried to wind him up and it worked quite well. He only done what every guy in jail says he would do if his partner cheated while inside, difference is he wasn't all mouth'. Another Facebook poster named Matthew Sharma 'penned' the following: 'If my Mrs ever does to me what she did to Raoul I hope I'm brave enough to do a Moaty'. I think those two quotes sum up people's feelings don't they and, as you rightly said, I'm surprised David Cameron of all people is trying to censor the media. Rhodesly - as ever you attempt to misrepresent fact. The Daily Mail was in no way endorsing these comments but pointing out how aberrant they were. I expect you cannot see that being aberrant yourself in your belief system. Of course you've failed to quote some of the hundreds of contrary messages, showing distaste for this campaign. Hardly another balanced report from Rhodesy though. Rhodes talking B0ll0cks Shocker yet again! being the main headline today. Rhodes
Loosely - I'm more than happy to quote some of David Cameron's hard hitting comments such as 'Moat was a callous murderer and undeserving of sympathy' and 'There should be sympathy for his victims and for the havoc he wreaked in that Community, there should be no sympathy for him' however our Prime Minister, and arguably one of the most important and influential people in the World, was shot down in flames by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, what does that tell you. Loose
It tells us that David Cameron finds it distasteful in the extreme and that he is entitled to an opinion, that he has sympathy for the victims not the evil loser Moat. It's understandable that as Prime Minister his feelings are with the victims families and the colleagues of the policeman viciously blinded by someone he'd caused no harm to. Naturally he is outraged as all decent people are that scum like you and your fellow campaigners should flaunt their pathetic rantings at this time let alone display no empathy for innocent and law abiding citizens losing their lives and health in this wicked crime. David Cameron registered the strength of his feelings, whilst all you have sought to do is sensationalise and glorify the pathetic Raoul Moat. ramsgate60
Another perspective : My link Just hope idiots like Rhodes read those comments and feel suitably ashamed. Just goes to show, here is a policeman doing his job, and his life (as he will know it) has ended,.. and to see so many positive posts about the man, considering he is also a ref, is staggering, shows what a good guy he is, unlike Moat,..who is a coward, destroying other peoples lifes, just cos you cant cope with Social services, there is NO right to decide other peoples lifes, there are always other avenues best wishes go to the the relatives of moats victims,
Rhodes
I have read from a variety of sources close to Moat such as his family and friends, including Paul Gascoigne, that he was a 'teddy bear', a 'gentle giant' and a 'larger than life character'. He was no fool either and if anyone has heard the so called 'Moatgate' tape where Moat articulately sets out the reasons why he needed urgent psychiatric treatment, which was never forthcoming despite his cries for help, is quite heartbreaking and brings a tear to the eye. Should have saved the money and set the UKSF on him, with a seek and destroy order. Would have been over in 24 hrs instead of all the nonsense over a week. The day the State takes responsibility for an individuals actions is the day we give up our freedoms...freedoms hard fought for and won by the blood of many of our forefathers!! Big J R
I thought the comments made on 'Question Time' last night regarding the Facebook tributes summed the whole thing up pretty well. Thankfully, we do have freedom of speech in this country, so I'll havy my two-pence worth. Moat did the right thing and saved this country a bucket-full of money keeping him locked up.
