Reckon they're up on last year, but wouldn't say huge crowds...! We guessed at around 700 yesterday for Spurs, around 350-400 for Orient and a few less for Gills - Ironic really as Gillingham sent the strongest team down! Encouragingly we've got something like 80 TJs signed up and about the same number of members of the BTSA, both of which are well up on this time last season. Obviously some fans still won't return because of Basildon etc, but I get the impression several of those who got fed up with the Calder years are coming back (slowly) and there seem to be a fair few new supporters around, including several families attracted by the TJs scheme.

How much was Calder and how much was Borge in the manner of football you played last season
IE do you expect Hornchurch to be lumping it down the channels this season?

Gazza its me pabird not , repeat not a Hornchurch supporter

I just wondered as new boys Hornchurch must be wondering what they are about to recieve

I saw a Billericay away to aldershot game (3/4 seasons past) where GB really wound up the crowd before and during the game in a very iffy manner

i cant believe there were 700 at the spurs game, i would have said about half that. Also where did the tenner to get in come from?!!! surely the point of preseason friendlies is as much to attract new fans as well as seeing the new players. I wonder how many new fans that came on sat will have been put off thinking all our home games are a tenner?

I think a tenner was charged to cover Spurs travelling/food costs

Cheeky so-and-so's!!!

There's nothing quite helping the lower leagues is there, Mr Premiership club!? It wasn't as though they had to travel the length and bredth of the county!

Maybe they needed to buy some more treatment tables. (Thanks for buying Kanoute - he was becoming quite a millstone).

This actually isn't that uncommon - or indeed the worst instance of the money grabbing big clubs. When Chelski - who aren't exactly short of a bob or 2 - visited Watford - who are brassic - recently Chelsea demanded half of the gate. Probably didn't amount to as much as £10,000, but to Watford that would be important money. Whilst it's obviously disappointing that we had to pay 10 to get in, one way of looking at it would be to say that the money the club made on Saturday would pay one of the players wages for most, if not all of the season.

I must have bought a diffrent program to you guys, over priced (2 pounds for a friendly) and lacking in original content. The shape has changed but the lack of original info on the club hasn't. If you read the web then all the info is just copied. Advertising an interview with Justin Edinburgh was a con - copied from the Spurs Mag - I thought it was going to give some views on what is going to happen at BTFC. AS the club get nothing from the programme it was as bad as paying 10 pounds to get into the match. At least the club got the money for that.

Hey, that 10 grand will go a long way to re-couping the 70 million they've just splashed out. Greedy gits the lot of 'em.
