Billericay 2-1 Spurs XI Scorchio!

Recommended Posts

Flipping 'eck it were hot today! Not surprisingly game placed at a slow pace with plenty of water breaks. Jamie Dormer gave us the lead with a shot that curled over the keepers head and into the net. Hockton scored another goal to give us a 2 goal lead. Spurs pulled one back after some sustained pressure but our defense held firm.

Pre Season out of the way, bring on the Aylesbury!

I think that was a decent work out for us - a much stronger XI than we drew with last year, and pretty much the same XI that beat Crawley 3-1 recently. As was said after the Gills game, the fitness levels look quite good, and we're playing well as a team at the moment. Thought Dormer had a decent game, possibly played his way into the team for Aylesbury. Joe Hearns got promoted from the ressies to the bench and did OK, so I guess if we can get everybody fit for Saturday then things are coming together well.

First half we were too strong for them. Could of been 3 or 4 up. Second half we wilted (having played this morning I can well understand that!). Thought the keeper played a blinder and it was his saves at the end that probaly earnt us our victory. Proper stuff starts next week, but on performances so far I think we'll suprise a few people.
