Now everyone knows when managers change at clubs people try to unsettle the club for a number of reasons but there must be some truth to all of this!

Why are the players, if it is them. doing it anonymously as it's hardly going to help them get their money back!!

Never a dull moment at WEFC.

Not sure what sending letters anonymously actually achieves. It surely poses more questions than answers. Anyone can send a anonymous letter to anyone about anything.

I.e. are the letters the work of one person?? Do they speak for all the players or just themselves?? Are they from a wind up merchant? Are they from someone who holds a grudge against the club?

Fair play to Butler at least he's got the balls to stick his head above the parapet and say why he's leaving and how he feels let down etc. I don't think anybody has a problem with that.

Top class reporting, no real facts and anonymous letters.

As for Butts, top class player and served us well, wish him luck wherever he goes.

I also noticed that a few articles down O'Connor returns to Slough, so that would be O'Connor and Coyne at Slough, well I guess their fines for red and yellow cards are about to go up!!!

From what i gather Peter was backed into a corner financially by something he didn't agree to but said he would honour, just not immediatley. I am sure there are clubs and individuals out there that would have renaged on the agreement and would have made the situation a whole lot worse, i would say Peter was honest and clear about when they would get paid and the players should appreciate his integrity, even if they don't like the timescales. Some players will be gone this year, most within 5 years but Peter has been around for a long time and will probably be around, even if only as a fan, for many years to come.

So who do you think is doing what is best for the club rather than just for personal gain?

It just all seems a bit odd to me. Surely the Express has the contact details of at least some of the Windsor players or ex players/management etc.

We're not exactly talking investigative journalism here.

Can you imagine the Sun or The Mirror doing a article asking if any England players can contact them as they have heard some of the squad are unhappy with Capello!

I am guessing they were sent via e-mail so couldnt they just...replyl?!

You cant fault butts for leaving, would you take on an extra job and carry it on when your not getting paid?!, and fair play to him for speaking out. I'm susprised others havent unless they dont feel another club is after them and so dont want to burn all bridges just yet?!

What happened last season is shameful and hopefully will see a change in the culture of the club with regards to money!

Fuzzy,

As far as we are aware Paul Coyne has not signed for Slough. At this moment it is only paper talk and speculation.

FAO Sport Desk @ Express:

Is this story (or article because its just a plea for anything to create a story) completely necessary? Do you not have anything useful to write about? As a local newspaper you should use your position in the community to be positive about a community club.

Windsor & Eton F.C. and Scotty The Stag are actively involving themselves in the local community.

Scotty The Stag took Easter Eggs to the sick children of Wexham Park Hospital, Scotty The Stag entertained the punters at Royal Windsor Racecourse, Scotty The Stag is fund raising at Alexander First School Summer Fair in July (9th), he's fund raising at the Thames Valley Hospice Summer Fair on 10th July (fundraising for those organisations).

Jake Parsons, club officials and supporters have held football sessions for local church groups on two seperate occasions since season end.

Try and be positive about your local club and stop worrying yourself with matters not concerning you, me or 99.99% of the public of Windsor.

Take a leaf out of the Observer' book and support your local club.

Talk about a new low for local sports journalism. When I was more involved at the club the close relationship with the two main local papers was valued. I truthfully never thought one of our local papers would stoop to this level of gutter journalism. If it was my decision I would have the club refuse to talk to the Express, a bit like Fergie and the BBC. May sound petty, but when this all blows over, they'll be the ones frustrated that the club don't talk to them. Let the Observer take the plaudits and have the benefits let's give them the exclusives and be our paper of choice. I've always found them wanting to build a partnership with the club, particularly in recent seasons. I for one, won't be putting any further money into the Express or Advertiser.

Geggy: does that mean you wont be buying the Observer now as well?

I dont think anyone can have a go at the papers for reporting these stories as there is a worthwhile story in it you cant expect them to report on you and give you free advertising space without them investigating the fact people are owed money from the club! But its the way that the express have gone about it that have rubbed peoples backs up.

Very touching Doris but the bottom line is the press don't give a rats a#se.

Any bad news is good news as far as the press are concerned.

DORIS OUT!

Can totaly understand where the players are coming from truth be told and good luck to them at Hemel and i hope they get everything they were promised for all their effort they put in last year and the enjoyment they gave to us.

Sadly the club is paying for Peters overspending and whilst the players will be hit hardest moneywise it is the fans who have to suffer longer!

Wood - I have Max Clifford hired and he's working hard to turn this into positive publicity! You seem to have made your bed and are comfortably lying in it. An amazing statement you've made about Sir Peter.

The Club is The Club and Supporters will support it whatever. Fans come and go.

My point re the players was simple...they have an issue with the Club and Chairman by all accounts, and they should address that issue directly - not via web forums, host rooms, papers etc. That is their private issue. That's my point re "not caring" about their plight - IT IS NOT MY BUSINESS, YOURS OR ANYONE ELSES BUT THEIRS AND WEFC.

Our Players and staff did a fantastic job last and previous seasons, worked hard, were committed, always had time for us Supporters and were all decent nice pleasent blokes. They achieved what hundreds of others have not, and the achievements and moments from last season wont be forgotten or under-valued.

Anyway, roll on the fixtures coming out.

Oh, and dont forget, Alexander First School Fair Friday 9th July 2:30pm - Scotty The Stag has a stall. Plus, Saturday 10th July at Dedworth Middle School - Thames Valley Hospice Summer Fair - all monies raised from the Penalty Shoot Out Comps go the school and or TVH.

Oh, Supporters Club website www.wefcsupportersclub.co.uk

Oh, Scotty The Stag Mascot Furlong Dash at Windsor Races Sunday 8th August.

Maybe it's because some anonymous posts on here purporting to be from players were treated with a certain amount of suspicion.

Ah, the above post pipped me to it...!

Perhaps Doris, the papers were the players last resort after Sir Peter, reportedly, hasn't kept to his promise on how the owing money was going to be paid in stages.
