Cranfield United ground improvements

Recommended Posts

A few words on our midweek game against Bedford Town Res i was very proud of the whole squad couldnt have done anymore if it had been a boxing match it would have been stopped halfway through the 2nd half we kept a good tempo and pushed and probed just could not get the equalizer hit the bar and missed a 2 yard tap in overal our best performance so far but as so often in football you dont allways get the points you deserve they play with 1 up front with the wide men joining in quickly 2 lapses in concentration cost us having said that we were 100% better than our performance against wodson . Saturday sees us FINALLY at full strenth with everyone available and just 1 injury so should start to get a bit more interesting.Looking for 3 points. Got a good spirit building in the camp young players are progressing well looking forward to Saturday also looking at a couple of other transfer targets.

Lee, a couple of transfer targets, please tell me it isn't that Inter Fering bloke and his prodigy of a son, Simon......Craig will be disappointed as he was lining up a major offer LOL

As for our game being called off, not the best start at a new place but then I think that shows how much dire straits BTFC were in, think they have a new Chairman now and the groundsman has been given 'garening leave' so hopefully in time the pitch can be rectified to avoid something like this happening again, prior to that it looked like it hadn't been watered all summer so guess a few heads will get together in time and hopefully come up with a solution.

Suppose the one plus side to the game being called off, saved the kit having to be washed LOL.

If hes been given GARENING leave what is he doing ? knitting a patchwork quilt for the pitch or is he taking up a pair of craigs trousers lol As for inter ferring and simon i think simon has been interfered with enough ! Although we have offered them a yellow bus to the games and a free game of skittles once a week in our clubhouse (and i had to clear it with the commitee) lol

hello 66cup again. i looked at the games today and yo playing that reserve team st albans. i said on here before that there is another reserve team and they should be in the reserve laegue but some one make a mistake so i think you should get a good win today. maybe if my uncle is okay he can go to watch because the sun is quite good today and he will be okay. i do not no what football i can watch as simon still is cross with me we went to watch b=rache the other night and we got there and there was no football and he said i should have find this out becaudse my sister had drove us a long way to.

brache play away on monday and today which is not good for me as i can not get to them now and tottenhoe play away today to. i think you will win today because the st albans are the reserve side, maybe you might score some goals to.

I reckon Cranfield should make him Guest of Honour at their next home game. Simon can bring his boots & be a mascot.

Best give him time to check the bus timetables though ! Lol

Just thought I had to join in this discussion at this point having watched the Bedford Town Reserves VS Cranfield United game last week not entirely sure that description was particularly accurate, I must have missed where Cranfield hit the bar although I do remember Bedford hitting the bar with a pretty sharp effort on the turn. Cranfield definately had a larger amount of the games possession but that was really all in the middle of the park and your own third of the pitch where your never really going to score from.....The goal you scored was a good effort but if the centre halves had been closer I am not sure that shot would have got off quite as easily and Bedfords goals were good clinical finishes. The chances you had throughout the game weren't really carved out however the one shot you had on target though did bring a good save from Bedfords Keeper when the ball broke at the edge of the area

Just my observation is all but I understand people have differing opinions possession unfortunately doesn't win games, moments of good build up and good finishing however does

MASCOT!!! after the way we played on sat he can play to be short played poorly against a poor team (worst team we have played so far) they will prob say the same.

Think we've all been there Lee at some time of our lives, play brilliant one week and get jack, are shocking the next and steal it....but if football wasn't frustrating, if it was just that simple then how boring would it be, dust your boys down and they'll be back next week doing battle for ya.

Maybe though it's the location of your pitch you need to look at, I mean SLB 2-4 down, 10 minutes left and one of their more sensible players does a quickie into the local B&Q, picks up a spade, gives it the big I am back at pitch side and gets the game called off, so move from Cranfield into the MK Dongs, at least a B&Q is close by and you have an ace up your sleeve LOL

Hit the bar with a header then the forward missed the ball totally from 2 yards out after 80 mins you must have been in the toilet !! and to say that if their centre halfs had been closer we wouldnt of got a shot off come on !! i could say if our right midfielder had tracked back they wouldnt have scored 2 goals i could also say if my auntie had balls she would be my uncle lol

Careful of your wishes Lee....soon be Xmas, mind you probably more chance of that happening with your Auntie than say a Ref giving you a penalty in the 94th minute or SLB winning a game lol.

I often wondered as a child why most the family called my auntie RALF

Know what you mean, mine was called Ben Dover, always an open house, plenty of male friends but a hideous red lamp in the front window, anyone was.....

:welcome:..........LOL

A draw is still a point, as long as you learn from where you went wrong if that was the case and you correct it before the next game.

Our 0-0 draw last week at Tring, everybody loved it and it was the apparent slippery slope, but in truth it was the kick up the backside we needed, absolute quality yesterday in our top of the table clash, 3-0 and it came about because of lessons learnt.

Wanted to watch your game Tuesday, but off down the road to Harefield for a Cup game, so good luck, tho I wouldn't mind a draw as I have a likeing for both yourselves and Bradwell.

Might take us a bit longer to LEARN from our mistakes as we are a new squad and have not been together for quite a few years like craigs team plus we have 4-5 u19s in our team but they are learning fast and if we can get our jeckl and hyde sorted out we would do ok havent seen anyone this season so far who have set the division alight and it tells you something when the 41 year old manager can score lol
