5-3-2 or 4-4-2

I see why Eddie is playing this formation with the players we have got, but at the back it does not really seem to be working I think.

Also I think Anthony Howard's wasted as an attacking force at centre back, should be playing right-back in a 4-4-2, anyone agree?

4-4-2 all the way. At the moment Howard is caught doing two jobs as nobody on the right side chases back.

On the basis of the 4 friendlies I'd play

Keeper (please somebody better than what we have seen) Howard, Gyoury, Daly, Barrowcliff. Harris on the right, Steer on the left, Hyatt and Spencer in the middle, Deaner and Miller up front

Yes I know, mock me for saying Deaner, but its either him or Hodge, and Hodge is currently making Deaner look good!

Was the keeper at Maidenhead (Little) that bad? He didn't seem any more prone to flapping at things than DJZ, McCann or Blakey and actually made a couple of good saves.

Definitely agree on the scrapping of a back three though. When I spoke to Roy about it he suggested it was more Eddie's preferred formation than just a shortage of personnel. If we keep Steer then what's wrong with Daly, Gyoury and Howard making up a back four or even adding in Adrian and making it five?

I think the problem with having Brown, Daly & Gyoury as a back three was clearly highlighted by Yaku on Tuesday night. Any sign of pace and those three will struggle to keep up. As a central defensive pairing though, I would prefer to see Brown and Daly with Gyoury on the bench.

The other thing with the wingbacks was they were often caught so far up the pitch, that we had massive gaps down either flank, something which I am sure 'manager' (???) Eddie Denton is addressing.
