I was simply wondering when we may hear if they have either signed for next season-or have definately gone to pastures new.

Must admit-i would like to see all four in next seasons squad, but best i suspect we can realistically hope for is 2 out of the four

And there was me thinking Young had found replacements for Crosby Stills and Nash............;)

Not sure if you are party to this Franny you should be putting it on the forum???

Party to what , Alan ? Its something I heard , ' player gets offered reduced terms to stay on' , hardly anything new is it ? Even IOC said that Barnes " has been offered a deal to stay at the club " but believes he'll move on , more or less confirming he may well have been offered alot less than last year .

Well as I say I dont believe putting things like that on a public forum helps, certainly not for Iain either, if he is in negotiations etc

I only said if you are party to it as most of your posts have suggested that you are somehow close to the team hence hear things, if not the case, my apologies.

Certainly doesn't help to suggest numbers that could be wildly wrong. For a start, it's personal to NB and confidential between club and player. We could all start talking about what the supporters earn, but I'm imagining many wouldn't want that to come out on the forum!

Nothing untoward about Dan. The situation is that he was out of contract at the end of last season and at this stage hasn't signed for us.

If I remember correctly Dan left it late to sign for us last season but if he goes elsewhere good luck to him, stuck with us in our leaner times.

Thought he had been strongly linked with a move back to former club Croydon who came up from Ryman south so at least we will see him again this season if this materialises. As BGA states he has been a good loyal servant this past few seasons so no hard fellings if he does move there, so long as he is not too outstanding when we play them! It would leave us with a lack of cover in central defence though with Cooper not signing but I'm sure IOC will find someone suitable for the job.

I dont think I ever mentioned what Nick Barnes or any other player actually earned. I was only saying what I had heard as to the reason why NB may not be with us next season, IOC said that he's made an offer for NB to be here next season but didnt say it was allegedly on a reduced rate. If Nick decides to play elsewhere next season we would all have been wondering why, having been offered a new contract by us and after having a good season (IMO) for us last year, so maybe what I heard does make some sense. As for the numbers being wildly wrong they could be but I doubt it. FWIW I would like to see all 4 of the players that this thread refers to in a margate shirt next season.

Obviously there is alot more to it, but i can't quite see why IOC is waiting for Sam Jones to return from America before talking to him.

First to agree that face to face discussions are so much better; but i did hear that they have both mobile phones and email in the United States these days,so i would have thought at least preliminary soundings could be made;and if it was me-i'd want to know exactly where i stood.

If Mr Jones did not take the call-i think i'd have a pretty good idea.

Ironically-not usually being one for 'flair players' i make a bit of an exception for Jones as he plays more down the middle , and has a physical prescence rather than one of these lightweight fluffy right wingers that we normally have to accept.

I think you can just about afford to have one 'luxury' player who does'nt do much but can change a game in an instance. Its when mangers start playing more than one of these types that the problems start.
