My external thermometer outside my office is showing 43.3 degrees Celsius.

 

At least inside it is only 36.3

The hottest day of the bloomin' year (so far!) and I'm having to wear a jumper because it's so damned cold in here! <img src="/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

 

Makes a change, not long ago it was quite scorchio in here.

Err...32 C is 100 F.

 

40 C is 108 F.

 

I think this is right, anyway.

Well it now says 46.2 (115) - even if it is not totally in the shade, and there is some direct sunlight, it is blooming hot.

 

Of course when they quote 35 on the forecast they are talking about the shade temperature.

now I here some twat at the TUC has proposed that if the temperature hits 30 degrees then workers should be sent home (27 degrees if they are manual workers). What an idiot. It's people like him and those bloody airline workers who want to bring this country to a halt.

They do that at schools in Germany. When the temperature reaches some pre-determined level, the school is closed. There are lots of arguments about where the thermometer should be placed, though.

 

Anyway, some work places have to remain hot.
