Got to have something to do in the off season

I'll be the first (and maybe only one) who will predict England to beat the Germans. The Germans have been built up as a super team. I accept they are good but not unbeatable or invincible.

I'll predict a solid defensive display, Cole and jonson to pull them apart with Gerrard, Lampard and barry dominating the midfield. defoe to be the hero again 3-1 England win defoe (2) and Lampard from the spot, Germans to score a consolidation goal in the 88th minute when 3-0 down.

Didn't have time to do one for the cold end i'm afraid but i'll go foe the following:

Uruguay v South Korea - Got to fancy Uruguay with Diego Forlan

Argentina v Mexico - Argentina should win this if Messi plays well but Mexico are no walk overs, if they attack Argentina they can score. Maybe the best game of the round I think

USA v Ghana - Ghana are a tough side but can see USA winning a close encounter. Maybe PK's

England v Germany - the big one... Either the classic we're hoping for and an English victory or a drab game finishing 1-0 2-1 or the nerve shreading penalty kicks.

Holland v Slovakia - Holland by 2 goals

Japan v Paraguay - A tough one to call. Japan have never got past the last 16 (lost to Turkey in 2002)...fifa ranked 45 v fifa ranked 31. I'll say Paraguay to just shade it.

Brazil v Chile - Brazil didn't play great against Portugal so i'll go for them to return to form and play with style to beat Chile.... Brazil beat Chile 3-0 away and 4-2 away in the South American Qualifying.

Spain v Portugal - Most people say Spain but Portugal haven't let in a goal yet in the competition and have looked tough to break down. Possibly penaltys??

As you know I'm the worst tipper in the world but i'll go for

Uruguay, Argentina, USA, Holland, Paraguay, Brazil and Spain to get through. Don't wanna predict the England game, I just hope we play well and Rooney comes alive to bag a couple of goals.

Interesting facts you have highlighted.

I would have said Uruguay and USA as well, but now know that Ghana succeeded, good for them.

I'll predict that also going through will be Argentina (but only just 1-0 perhaps or AET), Holland, I think Japanese athleticism will succeed Paraguays technique, Brazil, Portugal (they have party poopers all over the shop) and England will win through in 90mins.

What a load of rubbish England were. Enough said about that really..

The one thing I have relised about the World Cup is Ghana's 2nd kit is quality!!!! Where did they get the idea of red and yellow stripes????

Song for Capello.

If you've got to go, then go now.

The last time I saw defending that bad was the under 8s competition on Donkey Lane.

Awful. Terrible. Rubbish. C..p.

Can someone tell me what Johnson was doing for the Germany second goal? He semed to move out from the six yard line rather than go on to the goal line.

As for Barry chasing shadows and a goal from a goal kick. Words fail me.

What he was doing was trying desperately to cover for the two footballer impersonators at centre back who had both followed the ball like a pair of 11 year olds in the playground, leaving Johnson to cover the centre and his own position.

However, I don't really want to defend Johnson, who was so far out of his depth as to be comical.

So much for my predictions-lucky i'm not a betting man.

Anyway come on folks who'll be the Semi-Finalists????????????

I'll kick off by predicting Ghana, Holland (only to be different from everyone else), Spain and Germany to win a classic 4-3 against the Argentina.

Ghana, Germany, Holland, Spain.

Looking like a Holland V Germany final with loads of hate and controversy

Now lets face it Ghana would have won IF the Uruguayan had not handled and IF the penalty taker had managed to get his Pen on target, so i'm claimimg a 4 out of 4 here. In any case It does look like a Dutch v German final for me.

By the way is their much interest in the World Cup anymore????????????????
