Ramblers disappointed to lose Kimble

Recommended Posts

BURNHAM Ramblers are still reeling from the loss of manager Garry Kimble.Kimble’s brother Alan has been appointed manager of Ryman League premier division side Aveley FC and Garry will become his assistant, the Maldon & Burnham Standard is reporting.

Rambers press officer, Nigel Radcliffe, said: “It was a surprise that Garry has gone.

“We had thought that he would be with us for the coming season.

“However, given the different levels of resources between the two clubs, and his desire to better himself, then it is not surprising that he left.

“Having said that it is a blow for us.

“Garry brought us to within a whisker of promotion but we should be in a position to name a new manager by Monday.”

Ramblers secretary Shaun Pugh said: “I wish Garry well, it was an opportunity he couldn’t turn down.

“He did brilliantly for us.

“When he joined us in October 2008 we were rock bottom of the league.

“He took us to eighth and then third in the league and into four cup finals, two of which we won.”
