I agree. Withdrawal symptoms are evident. 'Martin' could have been run over by a bus. He could be in a coma. The show must go on. It's what he would have wanted. If he recovers, he could come on and give us the answer to his question. It might be in his will and his widow could come on. Anyway.

It most likely comes from a germanic term for the word Club (The dutch word "kolf" is often suggested). It doesn't come from the term "Gentlemen Only, Ladies Forbidden" which is often suggested, but incorrect.
