My Four are Wrestling, Track and Field, Swimming and Fencing. As I show in the link it says on the official Olympic site that "Fencing is one of the four sports to appear at every modern day Olympics." Weightlifting (amongest one or two others) was used in the firts modern day Olympics 1986 but then dropped for one or two years.

My reference says wrestling is not one of the five.I am not sure what to do as my reference is the Schotts sporting miscellany book.Shall i set a additional question.

If you go onto the IOC website, look through each Games and look at the list of sports, the five ever-presents are "Athletics", Aquatics", "Fencing", "Cycling" and "Gymnastics". Wrestling was not contested at the 2nd Olympiad in Paris, 1900.

It actually started at 20:00 but the show everyone was listening too, on another station, had over run by ten minutes so they never heard the "This is only a fictional drama" message at the begining of the show. It is thought that over half of the 7 million listeners thought it was real.
