Right, here's a football one for the real anoraks.

 

Which competition was contested between Austria, Italy, Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Switzerland (and on one occasion Yugoslavia - all you youngsters will have to look them up) on a home and away league basis, often taken upwards of 3 yaers to complete. The competition was discontinued in 1960 with the Czechoslovaks winning the final league and the Italian defeating the Swiss 3-0 in the final game.

 

Enough clues there, I think.
