Guy Gibson was famous as leader of the 'Dam Busters'

 

What other role in the war was he famous for, before joining 617 Squadron ?

charliethomas is correct, D.H.

 

Transfered from bombers for his six month 'rest-period' to 29 Squadron and was quite a successful night-FIGHTER pilot before returning to bomber command.
