Cheshunt 4 Town 1

Recommended Posts

Another experimental format, another loss but not as bad as the scoreline suggests.

Cheshunt got the first Town then replied through a nicely taken goal from Matty Negus. Both team looked even at this point. Town then imploded again.

Matty went off then there were three quick well taken goals killed off town. Finishing from Cheshunt was better but generally thought there was not much between the two teams otherwise.

Up front some signs of hope through some nice moves from Mark Telfer, Pani, David, Toski and Fidos.

But still a lot for the management team to work on.

Best man on the pitch was John Taverner(Referee). No bad for an EFC fan!

Thought excitement was going to come from the match being stopped due to the dust clouds from a combine harvester close by.

Danny Clarke turned up with Danny Alleyne getting the fans excited until it was clear they were handing back kit.

Cheshunt were better than you say, Archer Cox, Walker and Haastrup were changed around up front and ran you all over the place.

Sam Rose was putting in deep crossed to the far post that you could not handle.

Cheshunt looked far more fitter than you did, doing far more running and passing the ball far better.

I'm Sorry you are a long way from being ready on that performance and the season is only just around the corner.

On a final note thanks for not standing around the pitch it was appreciated, plus with fruitbat and bubbles on the half way line in the second half there was no room for anyone else.

Fruitbat in a shirt and trousers

what a sight

In the first half and at 1-1, it was very even....As soon as the Town made wholesale changes in the second half, the system and team formation collapsed...at one stage we had 8 defenders playing, and our right-back played the whole game up-front.

Don't read too much into it Rob...and enjoy the fact that cheshunt have got 'one-over' on the Town....In a year or two, lets see who will be the bigger club.

P.S ..Do Cheshunt have any supporters,Apart from you and Fruitbat?...Also,do you think you'll break the magic 150(att), in any of your home games?.( The Town will do it,in every single one.)

From memory thats 3 wins in 3 matches against you.

As for supporters we get plenty and will break the 150 mark this season on more than one occasion.
