Stuart Swift

According to todays Slough Express, Burnham's Stuart Swift has agreed to sign for the Rebels. This would be a great signing and if all of the 4 or 5 players Bateman wants to bring in are of this quality then we'll have a strong squad.

Certainly good news to have Stuart Swift on board.

It seems he approached us which seems a bit odd as he has been with Jarvis for a number of seasons now.

Perhaps he just wanted a fresh challenge and Burnham being a small club had gone as far as they could go.

Also NBH staying for another season is great news.

One disappointing note for me is that it seems SB has only just started talking to the players he would like to retain for next season.

It's only my opinion but by now I would have hoped that getting those players to sign/commit for next season would have been a top priority and done and dusted by now.

If you have signed swift i think you will have signed an excellent player. A player more suited to your type of attacking play, he is certainly dangerous.

Don't want to spread any rumourswall.gif but 'unhappy with burnhams style of play' has been banded about. Burnham are not exactly an exciting team to watch, like watching paint dry the time i went there, but he was the player that stood out.

Awesome potential signing if you ask me. The 2nd best left-winger we played against last season after Ben Coker at Bury.

Scored a free kick against us last season and was probably the second best player on the pitch after Adam Martin when we played them at the Gore. Plus he knows where the goal is. 26 for SYCOB in his first season there, 8 goals for Burnham last season. We will have a real threat on the wings with Sincs on one side and him on the other. Also allows Mo to play more centrally if needed which may suit his game more.

Swift also adds two things to the side one of which is his set piece delievery. Burnham score a lot of goals from set-plays and a lot of them are down to him. If Tommy Hayes or Dean Clark don't play for us we really struggle with set pieces and with the likes of Harps and NBH in the side we should be doing a lot better with them as we have great targets in the box, bith capable of getting double figures from defensive roles.

Also offers great energy in the side and plays with tempo, something we also struggled with at times especially against the big boys. Good start to the summer, just hope Jarvo does not talk him out of it!

Good news NBH ha salso committed for another season. One of the best centre backs in the league and for me him and Chris Seeby at the back have the makings of a great parnership.

Also good to see Chris Herron will be returning to pre-season training following the op on his knee.

All looking positive thus far.

One player who has already agreed to come is Stuart Swift

No because he has not signed, just agreed to join.

Were far too busy closing threads on the forum anyway rather than taking out our own free time to write news stories.

Maybe this is the more sensible way of doing things rather than blabbing everything to the press:-

"On the possible signing of a new ‘experienced’ central midfielder, Hippolyte went on to say: “I’ve agreed terms with him but I don’t really want to say anything else until everything is signed on the dotted line." Drax in the advertiser.

Well that's up to Steve how he handles things like that. As Steve says though Stuart Swift approached us, so he must be confident of getting him. Stuart must have also liked what Steve had to say.

Jarvis claims in the maidenhead advertiser that slough are offering him double what burnham were and accuses slough of being a bit naughty approaching his players, he said if they (slough) want to splash the cash thats up to them but they are up to there old tricks again, apparently your after will dunlop and paul coyne too, think hes a bit miffed he hasnt been given his budget yet and is getting married in 2 weeks and will be away, probably lashing out.

He has lost Fenemore to Hemel too.

Just annoyed his better players are leaving or want to leave due to his management and style of football. Looks like Jarvis is feeling the pressure and the season hasn't started yet!
