Scott leaves Windsor

Looks like the rumours were true then... appologies all round then?

Keith Scott has been sacked as manager of Windsor & Eton Football Club.

Royalists chairman Peter Simpson took the decision after a meeting between the two men failed to agree on budget plans for next season's Southern Premier Division campaign.

The Advertiser understands that Dave Mudge is the new boss at Stag Meadow and that Byron Walton has been named as his assistant.

Cant think what all the fuss is about ...Windsor supporters getting all upset that no one told them nor that the club has made a statement..

these things happen throughout football , nothing changes there ..its quite normal that rummours start and the poor club , is put in position where its accused of not

telling people... its such a difficult line to walk ...as we have known on many occassions in the past !

Mugie has been telling us for almost 8 weeks, he was going to get the job and Scott was going !

Mugie a man who loves himself ! for sure.....

I can understand why they are upset. The professional approach would be to announce it on the site before its leaked to the press or at least respond to the comments either way.

As fans of their club they have a right to know just as many Slough fans would like to know if a similar situation occurred.

As a Windsor fan i am not upset, the club has already said there is no story. They are not going to comment on this rumour if that is all it is. I hear plenty of rumours and if i listed them all on here i would be here all day. The club are going to look pretty silly now if they respond to forum pressure and come out with a statement. Surprised that it has caused so much interest on the slough forum though. As for mudge, what has he done to upset slough fans ? personality aside i can only judge him on football, worked his way up as far as i know as a player then youth, reserve and 1st team manager of Burnham, at burnham he on a small budget achieved reasonable success, i see no reason why he couldnt manage at one step above, after all Bateman did it, oh no he got fired didn't heevil.gif

Ian whats wrong with fans mixing on each others message boards? Honestly!

That said when Lane went there was a thread that did a couple of pages on on the Slough forum! I'm sure i remember asking for the bracknell game statement in that one too!

Dispite Slough fans coming on the windsor forum i doubt we'd post a thread when/if Bateman goes.

Good luck next season!

There's nothing wrong with mixing on other message boards. Windsorian was questioning why it's created interest on here and I was suggesting a reason. The fact that you responded within an hour supports my point however.

I disagree Woody I think there would be a posting on the Windsor web site if as you say Steve Batemen did if / when leave, it would be football news and all our web sites are to do with football I believe. I think this would apply to any manager leaving a non league side.

Windsorian - I think the surprise for me is, that if the rumour is true, you would replace Scott with Mr Arrogant, that's all.

I agree Sue because i would be posting it evil.gif

Its a simple question of economics, while im not saying keith is a bad manager, the real test for me is whether they can manage on a tight budget, even i could get results if i had the money, you might not like mudge or Byron for that matter but for me that isnt that important, i think it could be the right appointment under the circumstances of big budget cuts, expect an exodus of our players shortly followed by an influx of ex burnham, aylesbury and bracknell veterans to follow.

No real shock in Keith going. I know him and spoke to him last just before they were due to play Totton in the league and he did not really expect to be there next season.

I think he then thought the 'proposal' he made may well have been able to see him work with a decent budget at SPL level, but it seems that was rejected. Decent manager i'm sure he'll get another chance elsewhere shortly.

Whilst nobody wants to become embroiled in a relegation battle doesn't this label him as a bit of a primadonna? I know he was sacked not resigned but I assume that's because he refused to operate at level the club was comfortable with.

I think the best test of any manager is getting a group of players to play beyond their natural potential - maybe he should have worked within the budget W&E could afford and tried to achieve that. Do an extent I think that's what Eddie Denton and Mickey Lewis did.
