MAIDSTONE troubles

The chairman tells the Kent Messenger: “All outstanding parties who are due money from the club will receive money by the end of May, as per the original agreement.”

However, it remains to be seen how the club will handle the deferred wages of Jay Saunders and James Pinnock, who left the club amid the cash crisis for Ryman League Premier Divison rivals Margate.

Saunders said: “I spoke to Paul and told him I wanted to know what was happening about my money. I was told they’d send me a letter about the money but I’ve still not had anything.

“When I left they said they thought I’d agreed to let the money go but that was never the case. It’s a fair bit of money and I’m due it.”

Mr Bowden-Brown added: “The players that left the club were advised the conditions of the agreement, should they leave before the end of the season.

“Anyone who wants to discuss it further should get hold of me.”

Surely this wont mean the likesof Pinno and Jay wont get paid the serious amounts of monies owed them by Maidstone, if this is the case then we surely owe them some sort of compensation for digging us out of the mire we were in????

I don't think it is up to Margate to pay Maidstones wages. I think you will find that maidstone will have to pay. Was there not a case a couple of seasons ago when a Grays player was sent to prison and the club were told that they had to pay him even though he was unable to play? They were told that the y would be thrown out of the FA if they did not comply and despite going to court they still had to pay.

i really hope they get their money but surely if they dont pay their football debts there is a case for a 10 point deduction.i dont really think it will matter in the long run as they will go skint b4 the seasons end , as we have found out playing at another teams ground is not sustainable for as long as they have
