Another decent performance from the lads. It's a bit of a cliche but the diference between the two sides was that when they got possession they kept it and made us work to get it back, whilst we weren't able to match them. Few injuries in the squad meant we were without JJ, Sam Taylor, Niall Richie and Dave Reddington so I guess strongest available XI (though if Justin is planning to play himself against Aylesbury I reckon he needs to get some more football under his belt soon!). Gills sent out there 1st team for the 1st 45 and their front two gave Penn and Scarborough a tough game. Gills took the lead, but as the half went on we started to get more into it and Danny Hockton grabbed the equaliser.

 

2nd half Gillingham sent out a 2nd string and looked a lot quicker, if less physically imposing. Although we generally looked fit and strong the fresh legs of the visitors came good with two goals in the final 15 minutes to seal the win. It was hard work today, but I think we showed up well, first half in particular. Dean Morris did well in the anchor role in midfield, whilst Scarborough had a much better game than on Saturday, although Penn was probably my MOTM.

Not a bad lose (is there ever a good one). I thought the team played better against Gillingham than they did against Leyton O's and it was only in the last quarter of the game Gillingham started to really boss tha match.

 

Felt for Gary Ansell tho. Had no service (or very little) when he was on the field.

yep,

 

we have to be happy with that..1-1 until we wilted a bit last 15...i tght we showed up particularly well first half and to go in level wasnt an unfair reflection of the game....second half i felt their "second xi" showed a bit more pace and desire..obviously trying to play their way into the gills side.

 

from my point of view again it really reinforced my views about the players we have and agree with simon that we should be looking to play our first choice xi on saturday especially with regard to justin playing 90 mins

Apologies for writing useless rubbish on a football forum instead of on the general one. Though saying that, most posts are on this one, aren't they.

Bromsgrove, Burnham, Chaddersley Corbett, Cheshunt, both Enfields, Gravesend & Northfleet, Harrogate Railway, Slough (I think), Whyteleafe and Wisbech.

 

Have been to Kettering and Bishops Stortford though (wasn't impressed with either fans). You should feel quite at home on the Kettering forum actually - they're rude, obnoxious and generally annoying.
