Had the walking, Had the heat

Every now and again you experience an happening that is so off-planet you feel later it was a dream

Just such an incident happened in Spain last week and the wife (Mrs, Mabird) insists it really occurred

We were sitting outside an ice cream parlour in Marbella (mid-day in a Spanish heatwave) when walking towards us came a couple who I will be really fair to and suggest he was deep into his 70s and she looked at least 80 years of age, neither could pass a medical for age concern

In a thick Irish accent he asked if we were English, Yes I replied, "O thats good you see we have had the walking and we have had the heat and so could you tell us where we could hire a motorbike"

I promise he was deadly serious and for the rest of my life I will wonder if he managed to get some blind Spaniard to rent him the bike and what became of them both
