Margate FC Announce admission prices for 2010/11 season

And I'm told quite cold sitting in there even when the weathers warm & sunny. £1 (if there has to be a charge) should be the most anyone should have to pay to sit there.

There are a lot of old folk that need to sit there & have no choice but to pay & I'm sure their pockets aren't bulging. These are long serving Margate supporters that should be getting some sort of privelege rather than being made to pay extra out of their pension. (I appreciate they already get entrance concesssions)

Even for younger people & away supporters, again £1(if there has to be a charge) should be the maximum i.m.o.

Some might not have have jobs, those that do might be on a minimum wage, some may have problems which requires them to be seated.

Yes,they are getting shelter but its not as if the view is better from in there.

Now,should the stand allow viewing from high up,which it dosen't, then yes a good case could be made then for charging £2 or even more.

Lets try & "attract" more people to games rather than the opposite & that includes everyone, home & away support as well as O.A.P's who simply don't have that "extra cash" but desperately want to come to games & support the team or watch their team in action at Hatsdown Park, under shelter & sitting down.

I don't think a £1.50 is to much, could it work on a season ticket system, say £30 for the season inc cup games.

My view is that it is correct to charge 'extra'.

On the odd occasion that i have sat-it is really quite comfortable-it may not look like a 'proper' stand-but it is as effective and comfortable as any other stand.

What happens if you don't charge and suddenly everyone wishes to 'sit'.

It may not be much-but its another small revenue 'earner'-surely we don't decry that

The stand would be full then Michael & wouldn't that look good or bearing in mind the disadvantages I mention previously maybe it wouldn't be full after all. Surely not EVERYTHING has to be about money! A bit of "goodwill" counts for a lot too.

How about the club going half way & maybe at the least allowing O.A.Ps (concessionary paying customers) & obvious need to sit supporters paying at the turnstiles to be given a "free" ticket to sit in the stands. Come on now we aren't talking "mega" money here but it shows a massive amount of sympathy, understanding & goodwill towards for the customer.

It would be a start if nothing else. Maybe help towards others could come at a later date.

Im under 21. I earn minimum wage. I love Margate FC, and would come to as many games as possible, but I'm sorry, £10 is now too much. Its the last Hartsdown Park will see of me. Sad day.

What an awful excuse as well. "to bring us up to a level with the other teams in the division", why do we need to be at a level with them?

To be able to compete at this level we need to compete with admission prices as well, its a sad fact of life I am afraid, income streams are everything at this level we have a solid fan base, with above average attendances so theoretically we should be able to attact better players!!

£10 for an hour and a half of live entertainment and a laugh seems fine to me...............

one thing that many of us take for granted at Margate-is that car parking is free, close to the ground, and relatively safe.

at some clubs-car parking is a revenue source-so hardly unfair imo that Margate charge the norm these days of ten pounds for admission-and a bit more to sit.

And the deep loose stones provide a good surface for punctures too. I should know. Apart from that yes it is "free" & convenient too.

As for the entrance fee going up I myself have no qualms about that whatseover in fact I think it's a good move.Consession prices have risen though I believe. I would have liked to have seen them remain the same. With that in mind I refer back to my wish that the elderley & special needs get reduced or free entry into the stands.

Thats a great shame MB, but I don't see where you are coming from. For one its only £1.00 more, and two, unless you do this already, don't buy a programme or even a cup of tea saving you the difference. I still think that margate FC is good value for money. If you go away, most places I went to last season charged well over a pound just for a cup of tea. I think at one club last season it was £1.50 a cup. I think Margate charge 70p although I might be mistaken. I hope you reconsider because every fan attending is an assett to the club.
