Some tough journeys there to test the travel budget :disbelief:

Meanwhile Bury have switched to the Isthmian which of course is what we had wanted to do.

Looking at the lists on the FA site, I do struggle to see who we could switch with: it says there are still uncertainties, but I guess not for us.

And Mike Avery's got the maps up already. Vicious-looking distances there, I'd be interested to see how bad our division is once he finishes the mileage pages. Cambridge won't be looking forward to their visit to Truro.

Still, looking on the bright side, at least the Conference South will be worth getting into dance%20%282%29.gif

If you look this site, it looks pretty reasonable to be in the southern premier, only possibilities to switch with would be Bury or Lowestoft.

Distances will be further, but if you're having to use the M25 all the time travel times won't seem so bad !!!!!

There are question marks over the future of Swindon Supermarine, which might pull Hemel back into the division to give another relatively local game.

There are also issues at Merthyr Tydfil which could also reprieve Hemel or someone else somewhere.

Looking at the maps on Mike Avery it’s plausible that we would have stayed in the South & West had we not been promoted. Hence our travelling isn't much worse than it would have been if we had stayed down.

More likely to of been moved into the 'Central' league though.

Got a feeling some changes yet Swindon and Merthyr Tydfil are on the brink and having listened to the non-league radio show it seems Grays feel they meet all the gradings to get in the ryman and did them in time so may launch a legal challange to put them in the ryman rather than essex senior. From conference to One step above park football in one season after their ground was sold. Mick Woodward, not a family member, poured in money and when he went the club soon followed!

Just to add...

Because Grays thought they'd be put in the Ryman they didnt apply for Essex Senior so are actually without a league!! Bizzare.

Bizzare is a word for the whole thing.

If you had not gone up, a move to central would surely have been the case. They seemed to have moved hayes there and with Slough, Ashford & beaconsfield already there they have deemed it sensible to put Stourport & bromsgrove in S & W. Do I need a new map or maybe i should have listened more intently in geography lessons with deaf Mr Robilliard !!!??

Bideford seems like a good excuse for an overnighter though !!! Westward Ho would be nice mid January !!

Got to say, us lot at Ciren are delighted youse did not make the move across. We get another trip across! Yeay, one of our favourite visits, that one. Though, as usual, The FA have sweet FA understanding of the costs down at our level of togger.

You'll enjoy Tivvy, a very nice ground with the quietest supporters this side of the Brissle Channel, as well as the trip to Chipp. Go by train for that one - hilarious folks, know their togger, good team too. Hednesford? Start on the Thursday for that one! Lovely ground, mind.

Everything is better than a trip to Cinderford on a cold day in January

A few of us went to Tiverton a few years ago in the trophy...Those of us who went to the game rather than England at old trafford got very very drunk. Think we lost but still ended up dancing in a pub in Windsor...

Apparently sailsbury are getting kicked out of the conference and joining the SLP meaning WSM stay up.

Brilliant. While I was hoping for Ryman for distance reasons the Southern League has some nice places. Definitely going to Weymouth away to see friends and family. Good luck Windsor.
