Dorking FC 2010 - 2011

Recommended Posts

Just to keep people up to date, and allay any rumours already circulating.

The DFC Secretary has informed me that he has received several applications for the post of 1st Team Manager. These will be scrutinised at some stage next week, (commencing Monday 24th), and a short-list compiled.

It's still not too late for anyone considering applying.

To summarise:

Only one application has been received which doesn't come up to scratch!

I have been reading these posts for quite a while now and noticing that Dorking seem to always get put in the firing line at some point i thought i would pipe up finally as i used to play for them in ryman div one, div two and in the co co prem and i also live 5 minutes from the ground which qualifies me as local.

Anyway the fact is When Steve and rusty were in charge half the squad were from dorking and the rest were from the surounding area except one or two and alot of players also came up from the youth team.

when the above two departed none of the lads wanted to play there anymore as it would not be the same, they had all experienced the high and lows together at the club an all felt it would be wrong to stay just to give the chairman what he wanted.

most of these chaps still play in dorking and most are still good enough for this level but would not return to the club.

there are no other players in the town that are good enough the represent the team at the current level an the youth team is more of a team of mates.

all Dorking need is the correct manager (which they have clearly not had for quite a while) who is well known within this standard of football so they can attract players and also get players on loan who are sitting on the bench in ryman div one for example, just so it can give them some time to actually start rebuilding the club rather than just getting anyone that can kick a ball and can manage 90 minutes and might possibly turn up for traning once a week.

so the appointment of the new manager is a massive decision to make.

anyway just thought i would mention a couple of things from the shared opinion of many people that used to play for the club and want to see them do well as the current status is turning the clubs name to shame when a couple of years ago they were solid and always looking to improve to try and get promotion rather than fight to save themselves from relagation.

Just a question would that not be a backward move for the club, bygone managers?

Ive no idea what went wrong there but should DFC not appoint a new face?

Just my opinion!!!

The choices have not been brilliant and that can only suggest there is something more under current occuring?

Taking time and vetting the right gaffa!!!

The cannabis was a failure. The Chav's nicked it all

Shame I sprayed it with paraquat before they did though !

Looks like Spurs Fan might have got hold of some of it by mistake.

Buckers is alive and well and still managing to get me out of bed after midnight !!

calm down, Buckers, I know its an old thread, but I couldnt find any of the more juicy ones to drag up!

Im sure with the new help on the coaching side and a few additions to the side that finished the season we can look forward to a few wins and a celebratory pint or two.

I see Sainsburys fruit and veg aisle hasnt been moved to the tea hut yet so there may be a year or two left to enjoy.....
