Hello all you Urchins people, just returned from the North East and here is my report on the proceedings as such

Friday 1st August v Hebburn FC

Arrived at the ground to see the home officials putting up posts and nets!

They explained that cricket had indeed been played that day and as it was a sort of "all in" ground that was the situation.

However a very lush pitch made for good football.

Gary Bennett (ex Sunderland)was in the Hebburn line up.

our line up: Woodsy, Scott, Ollie, Marso, Mooro, Rowlo, Lockie, Gav, Cricket, Taff, Westy

subs: Richard, Danny the Tank, Andy F, Foxy, they all played in 2nd half.

Jamie opened the scoring in the 9th minute from a Rowlo corner and from there we did not look back.

The home faithful compared Westy's 4 subsequent goals to "Wor Jackie", a superb Centre Forward display, but equally as good service from the rest.

The last a particularly pleasing reverse ball over the Centre Half's head from Andy F for "Wor Westy" to run in, beat the keeper and tuck it away, Hebburn scored a consolation in the 79th minute.

All players played their part in a thoroughly entertaining game, altogether a good night.

Saturday 2nd August v Jarrow Roofing

The previous night's officials advised that we would have more of a contest at Bolden, against Jarrow Roofing

Our team was the same starting 11 with Andy F replacing an injured Taff, and Rizzo was in the squad to play in the second half along with the other subs as per Hebburn.

Quite honestly we were outstanding and went 4 0 up in 35 minutes, to protect our lead in the second half, the lads must have been shattered, I was!

The pitch a little harder than that at Hebburn but nevertheless a good workout against a more than useful team.

Goalscorers: "Wor Westy" 2, Andy F, Jamie.

What was amazing was that the dugouts were on opposite sides of the pitch!

A thoroughly enjoyable weekend and one in which the quality of our football shone through.

Well done to all involved
