Bit of player news

It's surprising that KP hasn't notified Iain of his playing budget yet, obviously he wants Iain to get us up to the other end of the table, but is hindering his early bird chances of signing the players he believes can get us up there. Perhaps KP is too busy trying to secure the signature of our 'mystery' Director of Football (a role which is totally un-necessary at this level).

Not surprised that there have been approaches for Jamie & Jay. Jamie gave us some stability between the sticks after the dreadful chopping & changing of the no 1 jersey - he's a good safe option for Ryman Premier, but by no means outstanding. I'd like to see us sign Lee Hook who Dover don't want, but I think he might swallow too much of the budget. As to Jay, he is an asset to Ryman Premier teams because of his versatility and should be given a contract ASAP.

Could it be that despite'assurances' to the contrary; there is still a lingering doubt as to which league we are in next season;and thus KP will not define a specific budget until that is known for definate (is the leagues commitee meeting this thursday ?)

Maybe its just my nature; but it seems i remain in a very small minority who are not taking premiership status for granted.

Wouldn't have thought so because he seemed to 100% believe we'll be playing in the Ryman Premier League next season.

Confirmation of the make up of the Ryman League Premier (and other) division(s) by the end of this week.

From memory, there were a couple of appeals over demotions imposed on clubs which held the final decision up last year. I suppose the same could happen this time.

No definite news re Lee Hook at Dover but rumour has it he is staying put and John Whitehouse has been released, John is a excellent keeper and would be a lot cheaper than Lee.

Has Shaun Welford been released Mr MRP ?

He is exactly the type of target man i would like to see playing for Margate.

There is no official news on any retained list only rumour, I would have thought Shaun would have been retained. There seems to be a bit more in the rumour that Frannie Collin has been released he is a quality striker but not a target man. Jake Leberl anyone?

We tried to sign Jake before the deadline I believe, not sure if it was a loan or not though, not that it matters as it seems he didnt want to come.

Shaun has been offered a new contract so looks like he will stay, Jake has been released he struggled all season and is a shadow of the player he was. Danny Walder also released good young right back who began his career at the Gills.

Jake Leberl anyone?

Yes please.

I think Michael has hit the nail on the head. Although, in my opinon, a reprieve is nailed on, I think it is probably wise to get confirmation before committing to a budget.

I always rated Leberl highly when he was with us-(when others did'nt ) but that was a long time ago.

I suspect MRP is right inso far as like alot of our previous gallatico's they are now on the wane ;and we need to get fresh up and coming players .

I think we now have enough' old hands' and need to move on.
