Looks like Matt Miller and Freddie Hyatt have joined then which is good news.

 

Does not look like Tuesday's left-back played though, so that's a pitty and no McCartney in goal. What were we doing with the Man Utd full-back in goal!!

I'll try not to pre-empt the fantastic report I know Dom is writing but....

 

We were doing fine for the first twenty minutes but then conceded three goals in five minutes. Two direct from free kicks which looked a little debatable.

 

Hyett added some steel to the midfield but we lacked any quality playmaker and often bypassed the midfield completely playing it long to Hodge and Deaner.

 

Miller played wide right midfield in the first half and did nothing. In the second he played a central striking role and looked good although lacked any decent service or support.

 

On a separate note, it was the lowest turnout from Slough fans I've ever seen. If you discount Roy and Martyn Deaner there were only eleven Rebels and four of those were kids!

It's a shame really when you consider how well we played against them last season in the FA Cup. Lets hope things can only get better from here and we can just maybe do well in our opening few games to get a bit of confidence in the squad.

<img src="/images/graemlins/achso.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/alert.gif" alt="" /> hi ian i was one of the few who botheerd to turn up if late at 1455. same old no stuedent conssetions for anf fans and suprised only £5 anyway. the lady said it was only five pounds and agreed not to bad value until being shott down by some niftey gull canvey players scoring three quick goals on the break look possible candiedets for naitonwide premiership. walk all the way from canvey island to benfleet via sea wall oviding town centre and meal in hoy pub was very good. great big gammoen joint and home safely sadly last train at 2355 from paddingon. overall promising day but for the result. we need to gell and move forword. allso another snippit it looks like through roumers that vilie hackie has gone to join the other ten and browns borehamwood to make an exe slough starting eleven. hope you enjoed day and all got home safely

In addition many of you will be (un)happy to know that I will coming out of Slough exile on Friday to attend the Aldershot match. I seem to have become a very part-time supporter so I need to get back on track.
