what is the point

Recommended Posts

what is the point in trying to censor a subject that has been put in the public arena by the highest authority at the club, especially when it concerns all at the club, not just the few minions of junior management that are acting like big brother and are trying to bully the rest of us into doing what they want, where we play concerns all of us and we should be allowed to voice our opinions , if the club did not want us to do this then they should have denied all and said nothing to the press in the first place,.

Because people can't be trusted to restrict themselves to sensible and constructive comments and instead let it fall into a silly argument about our relationship and "rivalry" with Windsor. Steve Easterbrook has done a magnificent job as chairman and has moved us into being run as a business. He has made it clear in the press and at the presentation evening through Roy that negotiations are ongoing with regards to where we play. Given the fanatastic job that he has done I think the vast majority of Slough fans are happy for him to make the decision for the good of the club and given his singificiant contribution to the club I think he is entitled to that. Some of the comments on here have been frankly ridiculous and likely to prejudice discussions it is therefore eminently sensible that threads have been closed and we have been asked to stop commenting on the subject. Some other posts have been constructive and I am sure that Steve and the team will take the comments on board.

Incidentally Martyn Deaner did not consult anyone when he signed a ground sharing deal with Harrow and had to pay to break it before singing another deal with Windsor.

Ball boy - please stop posting about this issue of where we play as it has nothing to do with you or me.

Just get back to collecting the balls, and I will get on with cheering on the team.

We must know our place and let the powers that be make the decisions that affect you and me.

well staines i see that your comments are up to there usual constructive use , for you to understand i'll put that a little more direct they are of no use.

i;m sure that some one with the intelligence of our chairman can decide for himself what comments he wishes to take on board if he so wishes and does not require a minion to edit what he sees to make his decisions on, and what on earth has martin deaner got to do with this discussion, we all know he was a law unto himself and made decisions that might have been better discussed at a lower level first to enhance his decision making i think paralells can be drawn from the old saying marry in haste repent at leisure, and maybe we could learn a lesson from this.

There are two things that have irked me.

Your use of the word "minnion" to describe one of the many hard working volunteers who make the existence of our club possible and the fact that on the back of a great season some Slough fans can't help but finding something to moan and bicker about.

The request to stop talking about the groundshare has come from Steve and it is patently obvious why.

Finally, Staines Rebel was agreeing with you!

Now we are clearly in silly season, I think I will sign off the forum for the summer and I'll see you all once we kick off (on the pitch) again.

If Steve E has requested that we stop talking about the groundshare on the forum as it may prejudice talks then that is fair enough. However, I am sure everyone

would agree that all who follow STFC are entitled to voice their opinions, good or bad, otherwise how on earth can the club gauge the mood of the fans? Decisions

are made taking all view points into consideration, whether the forum moderators like it or not. Remember, not all STFC fans read the forum.

I am more concerned with some of you Slough boys coming on to our Hitchin forum and still bearing a grudge, time to move on Mark.

You claim you'll beat us next season and thats fine, but don't harbour a grudge too long, its unhealthy.

No Mark, not taking the piss, trying to gain some ground, you can harbour a grudge as long as you like, we have had much better teams than sluff try and goad us and fail.

The football will do the talking. Grow up son.

well martin by comparison to steve you are a minnion and not a lot will change that but i get irked by nobodies trying to prevent my right to free speech you may not agree with what i have to say but in this country i still have the right to say it, and to justify it by saying that i am moaning at the valuable volounteers that assist our club during the playing season and out of it , then to dismiss it as a silly season is beneath contempt, i hope you enjoy your holiday away from the site as it may help you to balance your veiw when you are refreshed.
