Well , after a falling out at AFC Hayes he joined Aylesbury Fc where they won promotion, anyway back to the point, apprently he has been in Touch with Keith Scott over possibly joining next season?? I seem to recall he had a fantastic game when they visited us?? Do we think he would get a look in ahead of Rob and James?

Yeah, I remember him making the save of the season at our place. He did look good that day. With money being tight I really don't think we'll be getting an experienced 'keeper to sit on the bench.

Anyway, the rumour 2 weeks ago was that Bracknell's 'keeper was joining us. Wonder who's next on the list!!

You know what, its funny how things piece together sometimes.

This message gets posted and I suddenly remeber an email I got today timed at 5:34pm from Aaron Bufton who is, yes you've guessed it, the AFC Hayes keeper.

Now, forum post at 5:33pm and email at 5:34pm, you do the maths!!

in response to the original post, bully was IMO the best in the league last year and id expect him to be one of the best next season as well. my guess would also be that courtnage would return to staines as i believe he was only acting as an emergency keeper for bully.

after only conceding an average of a goal every other game, i'd struggle to see how you could just replace bully, especially with someone that would be coming from what is now the league below. a good squad though is always ideal and i guess time will tell!!

I'd like to know we had a good keeper in reserve as well as an excellent one on the pitch, after all you never know when the knee-kicks will strike...

Seriously, Rob was/is a superb keeper - I've not been so confident since Trevor was in goal, and Rob has a better kick. So I'd rather have a regular replacement rather than (no disrespect) Woozley in a different jumper...

It's JAMES Courtnage not Trevor and, whilst we're talking about what's in reserve, please don't forget we also have young Tom McNeill who broke his arm/wrist whilst on loan at Beaconsfield as he's now back in training and is certainly one for the future!

I'm not sure I've seen Tom play, but yes I had forgotten he'd be coming back. That's good to know.

However the Trevor I was referring to was Bunting!

Personally i thought we saw a wealth of talented goalkeepers last season, much better than the season before, and if we needed a replacement we should be able to get a more than adequate replacement.

if bully is back fit i would rather have him there, from what i saw of Tom he looked pretty competent and confident, but of course i didn't get to see him much.

We have been lucky with keepers over the decades (with a few interlopers) and Bully continues this fine trend. a good keeper is paramount to a strong team and Courtnage was a good find to finish the season, so good luck to him if he does go back to Staines.

So, are we going to break our 32 games unbroken record next season, I mean we start with 5 from this season so it is only a measly 28 to break it, simples!!!
